I have the error code E73 and unfortunately this problem is no longer under warranty and i do not want to pay for a new xbox. So, is there a way where i can get my xbox to get the three red lights without voiding the warranty?

Wrap it in aluminum foil.
Just Kidding.
Have you tried clearing the xbox cache. That might help
E74 is covered in the 3-year warranty the same as the RRoD.....why would you need to red ring it at all???
How is that illegal if you are trying to fix something you brought? Anyways... try buying a kit from eBay to open it up, and it will come with an instruction on how to fix it.Master_W0ng
He does not want to fix it, he searches a way to manipulated a problem to get warranty that this other problem covers, I don't think that this kind of manipulation is allowed as you use it to cheat the company ... not that I care about Microsoft loosing some dollars, I just don't think this kind of discussion should be allowed here
What this guy said, wrap it in a towel and let it cook.If you want to make it overheat then wrap it up in a towel around all the vents

Microsoft screwing us like this should be illegal so I don't care that people do this. If they made reliable consoles, they wouldn't have to worry about these things. Wrap it in some towels, turn it on, and leave it on for a half hour. let it be for a while, then it should work for a little bit then it will overheat I THINK.I don't think this is legal and thus this topic isn't allowed ...

For those of you who don't know what the OP is trying to do... if he is able to get the three red lights then he can call M$ and they will be like "ok oh yea just ship it in and we'll add it to the pile."
But if he calls and is like oh I have this error message coming up M$ will be like "thats not covered by the warrenty because its not a result of an inheriant design flaw (like the RROD is) and is rather (I.E.) your fault."
A similar (and much more drastic) example of this concept occured during the San Francisco earthquake of 1906 (aren't you glad I'm a historian?) Countless homes were destroyed by earthquakes but most if not all housing insurance owned did not cover earthquake damage. Insurance did, however, cover fire damage. With the widespread fires also going through San Francisco, it seemed plausable that many of the earthquaked houses also did catch on fire. Of course in many instances owners were starting the fires on their own merit to collect the insurance money.
So OP what to do about your little issue. I recommend getting intimiate with your 3sexy. Get the sucker on and all heated up. Make sure the plug is firmly plugged into the system and your wall, turn the lights out, put on some Barry White, and cuddle with your system in bed. Eventually the insualtion and heat created by your body will overheat your sysem.
