hey guys,

Isent my 360 in for repair. When is broke, i called the support line and they said i wasnt under warrenty. Im like, whooah! wait a sec, what about the red light warrenty. She said since i have only ONE light blinking i will have to pay for it. So i just hung up, cuz i was HELLA pissed. I called back about an hour later saying that i had the 3 red light just to get my UPS box for free at least. She says if you do NOT have the 3 red lights they are going to call me. So what i was wondering, will they fix my xbox or not? It's been there for about 5 days now and i havn't heard anything about it. So if you have ANY info...PLEASE let me know. Oh, and if you've arealdy sent your xbox in for repair, and got it back. How long did it take for you to get back? THANKS GUYS!

They won't repair it for free, no. The extended warranty only covers the three red lights of death. One red light is a different hardware failure that is only covered by your standard warranty. If that's run out, you're out of luck.

They will check whether you have the three red lights and figure out if you're lying to try to get a free repair. You have two choices:

i.) Be honest and pay for the repair

ii.) Be less honest and try to force your 360 to get the three red lights by making it overheat. I am sure you can Google how to do this, though I have never done it myself. It is risky though (and not just for your karma) because if MS figures out that you have done this on purpose they may completely void your warranty and refuse to repair it at all. Then you're left with an expensive brick.

Personally I'd suck it up and be honest, but that's easy for me to say because I bought the two year extended warranty for crap like this.
