Anyone own an original 360, from 2005, that has yet to break down?

Just wondering if there are any 360 owners that bought the console when it released, and has not had to replace or repair their machine yet?

360s, like all other products, have planned obsolesence built into them. So naturally, they'll fail after a certain time. At launch, Microsoft had yet to work out all the bugs and technical issues wih the 360 hence the high failure rate. With later consoles they're getting better though and the 3 year warranty against the most common problems helps.

My first 360 was manufactured in 2007, then I bought another one this past June that was manufactured April 13, 2010. I've had absolutely no problems.

Just traded in my Jan 06 console for a 360S (manufacture date of 10/05) and it never had a problem.

I have a launch Xbox 360. Works fine except for some games I need to install them in order for it not to freeze. Will be getting a Xbox 360 S in the near future though. I generally end up playing PS3 or PC mostly for now because I don't want my 360 to break until I get a new one.

I own one:) If you take care of your 360 (clean it, don't over use it, and be careful when handling)it will be fine.

Some people consider getting an Intercooler TS (own power supply) to pervent RRoD. It's quite loud, but install the games to the HDD makes the Xbox a tad quieter because the disk doesn't spin while playing the game.
