It crushes Tony Hawk games IMO. I love this game. The only issue I had was coming to grips with a new control scheme when I was so used to pressing button sequences in Tony Hawk. It's basically all done with the sticks in SKATE & once I got used to it, I don't know if I can go back to a TH game again, it just feels so canned.
If you are patient enough to learn the new control scheme & you like skatebord games/culture, then SKATE is a breath of fresh air in a stale genre dominated by TH.
i played the demo and when i try to do a kickflip half the time it is an ollie, is this fixed in the normal game or is it something you get used to doing the right way over time?
If you have not played it then do not comment on it unless you have we do not need you crap advice... No it is not a |"Run of the Mill"| Tony Hawk Game... This just basically destroys it and then some... Its a game you'll be easily get into if your like me and know how to work the controls me i love the controls and adds more challenge to there mini game "SKATE"... Its worth all of my 100 Dollars and i would choose it over Halo 3 anyday... BTW It's a game you'll want to get every achievement at btw...
Its a love or hate game really... But most likely a love... You see Tony Hawk is that Easy Simple to do Arcade Skateboard Game when... Skate. is just a breath of fresh air where you cannot do double back flips just put it this way...
In Tony Hawk... You land say a Triple Back Flip Impossible and your like... Meh but in Skate.
You hit say any time of Back Flip which is hard enough you get a whole lot of gratitude... Even landing a Kick Flip onto a Rail and Ollie off into a manual you'll say wow that was cool! :D
