I am on my third. First one busted the first week I got it. The 2nd one lasted 1.5 years. Third one is 3.5 months so far. Anyone had more than 5?phatram32

i got a launch console and it died that next january... i've had my 2nd since jan of 2006, works well even though the disc drive act buggy every once and while (it'll just stop either playing a dvd or game and eject for no reason).
I still have my day 1 console...It's survived 2 moves, tons of hours of playing, even a 30 hour marathon where I just left it running to get the last stupid Viva Pinata achievement.
i got my 360 november 4th 2006 it broke 25th decemeber when i opened it for xmas
then in april my replacement failed and now have a november 2006 model that is runnin fine apart from the fire and smoke coming out of it its completely fine lol
I still have my first console but looking to get it replaced before my Best Buy replacement plan runs out since it currently sounds like a jet engine when it is on. It has lasted through quite a few game marathons and has never hinted at the RROD
I had my launch console working great like 2 months ago, it sucked so bad when it gor the 3 red lights. Now I have a refurbished unit and hope it lasts me *knock on wood*
1st from july 06, and its only crashed once. Due to it being 90 degrees in the house, and no fan on it. Since i use a fan when its warm in the house, no problems.
I had a launch console. Now I'm at my 5th. I'm counting the one that I recieved when I traded my 2nd one in with my warranty to get another one. The one I got was screwed right out of the box. Go figure.

SEE! I just got mines last week and I believe it'll last a looong time because I'm sure I'm taking good care of it.
IT HAS TO BE OUT OF NEGLIGENCE that people mess theirs up! I've seen many people that have one since launch and its just fine.
Still on my launch console. Moved from S.C. to Minnesota to Va. Beach and its still going strong. Never had a single problem with it. Ive also taken it to numerous lan parties and many, many, marathons, although none Viva Pinata related. :\
I am still on my first. I did get the PROD once, but I had the power supply on the carpet in a confined area. I had left and my wife was watching a move, fell asleep and I came home and saw the 3 red lights of death. It probably had been that way for at least an hour. I turned off the box, moved the power supply to a hard surface with plenty of room, turned it back on and haven't had a problem since. I had 2 freezes early on but haven't had a freeze in a long, long time.
It just seems to me that the power supply has to be on a hard surface with plenty of room. My xbox is on the top of my entertainment center with plenty of room also. I think that is key to a lot of the issues. Now with that being said, with the amount of PRODS, there is an issue regardless of where you put the thing. Also, in the winter our house never gets above 68 and in the summer we have air conditioning, keeping the temp below 72 also.
I just got one in August, but mine's still fine. I've got it in the horizantal position and it's sitting on four VHS tapes, two stacked on each end, to help prevent overheating. I figured vert was the best move until my Oblivion disc got scratched to hell and it would freeze when I held certain conversations (usually involving quests).
launch console here, the only problem I have with it is the CD tray intermittently doesn't work properly, i.e. opens halfway or closes right you open it, jams before opening, i usually have to hit the eject button 2 times in order for it to either close or open right.
