gears is by far my fave online, i plan on getting gears 2 again once my new xbox comes back from MS, so jw, do poeple still play it online?

last time I saw a list (within the last 2 weeks) it was still number 5 on the most played games on X-box live.

I'll start playing again once they get rid of the cheating (it got worse with title update 4 for some reason). Some cheaters can basically eliminate all your EXP in one game - I could go from a level 51 back to level 1 'cause of some lame @$$ cheater. I'd quit a modded game, anyway, though. By the same token, some modded games will make yourack up insane points and level up multiple levels. No way to tell, I think.They say title update 5 is coming soon and will fix the cheating.

The Game of the Year edition is a good deal - I think it's $40 and it comes with all 19 dlc maps.

It would be soooooo much better if the online wasnt so god damn broken... The gameplay is good but the glitches... and the lag.. oh god the lag.. and the wait to get into a game...

I play online quite a bit, and I seldom have a problem finding games whether or not I opt for the map pack playlists or not. I really like Gears 2 online, but the shotgun rolls are really starting to piss me off...

Yea, I still play it .. but I had to take a break. I never had problems with glitching, lag or even long waits for matches. The thing I have to get away from after awhile are the hosts who keep dropping out of games. They gotta fix that. If the host drops out, that should pass on to the guy who had the next fastest connection. Last time I played, we got to Level 48 in Horde ... good group .. sticking together, covering each other, coming to each other's aid ... Level 48 finishes .. level 49 starts ... click. Host leaves. AIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE. Ok .. I'm better now. Also been playing Mass Effect in prep for ME 2 coming out in a few months.

Gears 2 online is pure horrible. For a game that sold like 5 million copies, why does it take 15 minutes just to join a game with 4 people?

How are people still playing this game? It's old, average third person shooter which had nothing on gears 1; the fun factor has been completely lost. Move on people. There are better more recent games out there.

I never reallly lagged when I played... but the Game just gets boring as hell... and the point system sucks.

I used to love Gears more than anything. but nowadays, the online is utter crap. since I don't like the online, I can't just rely on playing the campaign forever. so I'm gonna sell it soon :P
