Id recommend picking up a 360. I have been very fortunate enough to still have my first 360 working fine. As others have said, even if you do get unlucky and your first one has a system failure, you can just send it to Microsoft now and they will replace it.

Yeah, you're friend is just biased. Plus there's an awesome looking Naruto game coming out for the 360. I'm not a big fan of the cartoon, but the game looks worth checking out.
I've had the same 360 since launch day, I dont know what other people do to theirs to make it not work or where they put it for it to not have any ventilation, but mine has been working great.
