Depends on what you call hardcore. I think that most people associate "hardcore" with "lives in mom's basement and never sees daylight" or "has no life outside of video games" or something like that. How do you define hardcore?bdhoff
i dont consider your definition of hardcore. i consider hardcore gamers people who go out and buy all the AAA games, spend more than $500 in games, come on to websites like gamespot to get all their game info, and basically live for gaming

Thats the usually stereotype of gamers. I think youre defined as a hardcore gamer if you buy lots of games and know lots about games.

they way you're describing yourself does not describe a hardcore gamer in my p.o.v
To be a hardcore gamer you have to be in the Pro Zone. Winning is EVERYTHING!
I hate losing more than anything...
Are we all hardcore gamers or are there some casual gamers out there RealKilla_789
Depends on your definition of hardcore, my definition is: Someone who plays games to their extreme, they have to unlock everything, do everything, beat everyone. They won't settle for anything less than total and utter domination of all aspects of a game.
I'm not one who does that unless I take genuine pleasure in doing so, i.e. a game is legitimately just THAT fun. Achievements mean nothing to me, and I don't really play multiplayer because of all the egos and a connectivity problem I have with Live. I still use a Live silver account, and have an Xbox 360 Elite, but does that make me hardcore? I don't think so, and I dispute anyone who's labeled me as such.
I think the only instance where I've attempted to complete everything was in Portal, in The Orange Box. That game is just too fun for words, I'd recommend it to anyone.
A hardcore gamer is someone in their late 20's early 30's who buys a my little pony game with 8 levels and spends over 50 hours of gameplay on it hehehe:P I have a wii and a 360 and i would not consider myself hardcore even though i own a fair amount of games.

My definition of a casual gamer is someone who only plays one type of game. Maybe he only plays Madden or Fifa or Cooking Mama. He has no interest in any other type of game and doesn't know about new games on the horizon. A hardcore gamer is someone who plays many different types of games and keeps up to date with gaming news by checking websites and gaming forums. I don't think playing time has anything to do with it. I only get to play for a few hours a week but I still consider myself a hardcore gamer.[QUOTE="RealKilla_789"][QUOTE="bdhoff"]Depends on what you call hardcore. I never said you did. You gave your definition and I gave mine. I quoted you because I agreed with what you said about buying the new games and coming to gamespot. I said about play time because losts of people, including the person you quoted, mentioned it in their posts.
im casual, but i own all 3. its tuff being like me. honestly. i find like no time to play my ps3. and what about my poor wii? so some times, i feel Guil-ty. i wasted all this mo-ney.
Are all Jews rich?
Are all Americans fat?
Are all whites racist?
No, of course there are casual gamers.

If you own all 3 and post on gaming forums I'd say you're hardcore. Play time has nothing to do with it.
