All newly made 360s should be less prone to the RROD due to the falcon chip. Try to get an Elite with a falcon in it.

Yes. Any New 360 won't get the rings. My first 360 did. I took it back and they exchange for a new one no problem. No problems so far.

i had my 20 gig for almot 2 years then it died ( see sig) luckily i bought the best buy 2 year warranty from best buy. i had about a month left on the warranty when it died. i mailed it last wednesday, around noon, and am now waitingg for best buy to send me the voucher worth what i originally paid, which was $400 plus tax which is about $ 80. so now i get $480, i'll probably get the elite for $450 ( and another 2 year warranty)

I went through three different deffective 360s before I threw down the extra cash and bought an Elite. Haven't had a problem since. Thank god I bought the extended warranty, or I would have been in a world of hurt when my first three systems failed.

Less prone, yes, but the problem is still there.

I had my xbox that I bought exactly a year ago RROD two days ago, and being that I'm having so much fun playing Rock Band, i Just bought a new arcade system.. Anyone know about the Arcade and the RROD?

Also, this was annoying because I took VERY good care of my 360. I had TWO fans blowing the air away, it was very well ventilated and stabalized. Oh well, what can you do, I wanted an excuse to get HDMI anyway

I think the consoles, that they are making now have a new chip, which stop it's for overheating, so it should be less prone. But it might still happen, but if it does microsoft will repair for free.

All 360 models will eventually get the Red Ring of Death. But you'll still be covered under the three year warranty, and the later models have a longer lifespan than the previous iterations.

Hardly:

rrod

The one above is mine - though realisticaly, it is after a power outage, so it's hardly proof. If you want proof, google RROD elite, or search youtube for it. Lots of elite owners get the RROD. I thought I was in the clear, but I see that is hardly the case.
