I was thinking of buying one just as a precaution for my 360, but when i went on amazon, almost all of the customer reviews say it burns their 360 and whatnot. Does it really do this? I heard the worst is probably a Nyko intercooler but i just wanted to ask gamespot 360 owners to make sure.

The new ones supposively no longer melt the inside of the 360 but I still think they're pointless. If you're console is going to die have a some fans on the back won't help it

The first batch that had the on-off-switch where faulty & could get so that the plastic melted and/or burn marked where it was attached. The ones with no on-off button do not have this issue.

Regardless of version MS will cancel your warranty if you use one since it uses the main power supply of the 360. Other "coolers" that use USB-ports for power do not void warranty.

I myself dont think the coolers make any difference to whether you get the RRoD or not so buy a cheap game or something instead.

Well WTF? SHouldn't MS then tell all these companies to stop making products that are breaking boxes and voiding their warranties? Quite frankly if I was put in taht situation I would still yell and complain to MS everyday until they fixed my thing just to shut me up. Too bad MS won't just fess up and start selling new cooling equipment.

I would just stay away from ones that directly draw power from your 360, that being either an attachment on to the power connector itself or through the USB ports. Personally Iown a cooler that is powered by USB, yet it is conneted to my computer, seems to work great!
