Are the guitar hero 3 wireless guitar's really that faulty??!!

Being a a guitar player for 4 years it was only a matter of time before i bought guitar hero 2 on release date after hearing its critical acclaim and i still play it today. But my next question is that i am certain to buy the guitar hero 3 wireless bundle but i have been reading many stories regarding techniqual issues with the guitar itself such as certain frets not responding and star power not activating. Also this so called start power lag??? i was just wondering do many of you guys experiance this and what are the odds of it happening to me. Thanks

I hope these aren't faulty. I am getting 2 for my kids for xmas.
