Im thinking about buying Battlefield, but I really dont like Modern shooters with weak guns, so Im asking are the guns (particularly the assault rifles) weak?

Up close, the time to kill is very reasonable. However, If you expect to kill someone in two shots from 200 meters away, think again. At range your definatly better off using single shots or just getting closer to the enemy. I think the guns are acceptably strong in battlefield. It also works better in your favor because the slightly longer TTKS means you survive a lot more gunfights than you would in cod

Pretty much. Took 4 sniper rounds just to down someone, and people tend to easily survive multiple rounds from assault rifles. Haven't played it enough to give a fair judgement, though.

bolt-action snipers never take more than two shots. Semi-autos are bleh.

I know a FAMAS can put someone down in 1 burst(a very well-placed one) couldn't tell you much more about ARs though, they're my least-progressed class compared to the rest.

First thing I noticed when going bolt action. My friend follows the spray and pray philosphy instead of patient shot placements, so he'd rathar miss 3 or four shots going all out with a sniper than take the additional second to actaully reload and aim.

You wont die as quickly as in Call of Duty, but its not far from it. It feels *just right*. You're typically not gonna die just because somebody started shooting a 1/4 second before you in a one-on-one situation like is often the case with Call of Duty.

Plus the guns sound great, especially if you crank up the volume, so they all have a really great 'sense' of being powerful.

You can always play hardcore mode, as well, which is pretty much two hits from any gun for kill.

You will get used to it and adjust your gameplay accordingly. Or you can just play hardcore.
