I'm in the market for a new video game system. I've always been a sony player in the past, but since they have no backwards compatability with the PS3, I'm leaning toward a 360. My concern is the dreaded RROD. Have the newer consoles had any changes or upgrades to decrease this issue?

What he said. Yes they still break down as any piece of electronics do, but the newer models are much more reliable. Also, while the elite is nice to have, any of the 3 models are more reliable. Persoanlly I'd stay away from the Core/Arcade simply because it doesn't come with a standard HDD.

if you take into fact that most of those 33% were sitll ones pre falcon you could probably say right now its about 15-16% and then the new jasper motherboard and chips is supposidly coming this august.

DON'T buy the elite unless you think you need an extra 100GB of HD, which you only would if you are planning on saving movies and music to it. Otherwise, the 360 Pro and its 20GB HD will be just fine.
