Are the Xbox One controllers super flimsy?

I've had two of them so far, and they don't feel like premium controllers. On my first controller, the sticks started to feel loose and the plastic frame began to creak only after a couple months of use. I traded in the controller and bought another one last week. I dropped my new controller ONCE and now putting pressure on the left side gives off that creaky plastic feeling.

Am I just having bad luck or what? My 360 controller lasted 5 years before it started to have problems. I read that they did extra QA with the xbox one controller so it would last a decade, but it sounds like bs to me.

I do agree the 360 controllers felt more sturdy and I can certainly attest to the fact that I never had a broken 360 controller and I bought my 360 back in 2005!

I don't play my Xbone enough to have had any controller issues though.

The 360 controllers feel like bricks due to the battery bulge In the back. The Xbox One controller is actually heavier.

I haven't had any problems with wear & tear yet, but they definitely don't feel as sturdy as say the DS4.

My analog stick on my Day 1 controller is busted. I found out that the 1 year warranty on a $500 system does not cover the controllers. Controllers are only 90 day warranty. Boo MS Boo.

I find them to fit my hands very good. The triggers are the best I have ever used on any game controller. I don't have a PS4 so I can't compare how those triggers feel and work on the DS4.

My day one controller also creaks a little when I put pressure on the controller, mind you I've never dropped it or anything. This generation I definitely prefer the DS4 controller.

Agreed--Day One Controller is suspect as hell. Creaky and feels like if it takes a good fall it's gonna have problems. Being that I bought an additional controller when I bought my console the regular controller is solid. Go figure.

I heard that the PS4 rubber on the sticks can came off and the triggers squeaks. I think all controller cases can creak if you put pressure on them. I might buy a DS4 controller to use on my new PC build.

@JangoWuzHere: no they are amazing . not a single problem with them. I've had about 5 different issues with my ds4 so far.

Yeah they can, but fortunately it hasn't happened to me yet. In general though I prefer the comfort of the DS4 controller this gen.

On mine the sticks feel a bit too loose for my liking.

i think the xbox one controllers are sturdier than the ds4s, they feel more robust, the triggers are much better, the grip on the analogs is far better, however size- and layoutwise i prefer the ds4s... :)

The only damage that my Xbox one controller has thus far is just a scratch in the plastic casing. Due to play Killer instinct and dropping the controller. The Xbox one controllers seem study enough thus far. But I have only had Xbox one since August 2014.

Not really, but just like any other complexe device like this, you sometimes get lemons, and I know I have one (The TitanFall controller) that the right bumper stopped working well after I dropped it a few times. However, I have like 7-8 XOne controllers(I know, that's crazy), because I just love the special designs....like that midgnight blue controller in the MS store now, or the COD special controllers, I simply had to get one of those....ok so my point being I have dropped many of these controllers countless times on my hard floor and I have not noticed any issues except with that TF controller, which was a lemon I guess.

I may not be the best person to give an opinion on this controller though, because I've said it before, but I feel like this is the best console controller ever conceived.....it's like it was custom made for my hands or something lol.

Never had any issues with mine. Not day one editions though. One is just a standard controller that came with my system from late last year, and the other is the armed forces camo controller. No creaks or cracks. Doesn't feel weak. Feel's sturdy. On a side note, so do the ps4 controllers I have. Quality controllers.

I know they are lesser quality builds then the 360 versions but flimsy? I doubt that, probably lighter due to more plastics and less metals, but I doubt it feels flimsy. Only major issue I saw with them was the analogue sticks holding clips were cheap and break easy but even then I haven't had a single friend have this happen.

Dang, with the money you spent on controllers ( $480 = 8 x $60 controllers) you probably could have acquired a Wii U and PS4. Definitely a Wii and PS3.

Yes, they feel extremely flimsy. The Day One feels like it's going to snap in my hands. I can feel it coming apart at the seams. It was like that since I bought it. Luckily it hasn't come apart yet.

My controller has been dropped numerous times and has not broke yet. The controller creaks a bit because it's not screwed together but snapped, but won't come apart unless it's forced.

I've never had a problem with my Xbox One controller.
