Gears, Saint's, and Oblivion were 3 or my 1st 4 games, and I got Vegas a while later. I've enjoyed all of those games, so yes, I would encourage that line-up.
Looks good, except I too love GTA and I hated Saints Row. Perhaps in place a sports game? BritishpixelI wanted to give it a try because I need something to last me to GTA IV. I really don't play sports game to much anymore, but I was going to start back this year.
WTF is with everyone saying Saints Row isn't good? I bought it a little while ago and it has become my favorite 360 game. The graphics and cool physics makes blowing stuff up very satifying and every explosion is unique. I got killed by a door that came back and nailed me the other day. I really recommend the game and itll hold you over till gta4. I'm at 30% completion in the game and I always look forward to turning on my console and playing it.the_real_jspark

Put the brakes on... I love GTA and I hated Saint's Row. I just really thought it was garbage. It makes the True Crime series look appealing. That's how strongly I feel about that game. The other three are solid... especially R6 Vegas and Oblivion, which are the best shooter and the best RPG, respectively, for 360.
Other games you might want to consider include Guitar Hero 2, which comes out tomorrow... you might also want to try Dead Rising. It's often recommended to rent this one before a purchase and I tend to agree.
EDIT: I'm glad that people recognize that Saint's Row is trash... I used to get flamed so bad for that. And while I'm at it, Crackdown is AWFUL too.
i got to check out that oblivion i only hear good things about it =D saints row one of my first games rock my world! i loved the gta series except san andreas so i think your gonna like it when i got gears that rocked my socks off!!! then i finished it in all the difficulties and the online playing came out and then i got dissapointed with the glitching/lagging, nobbs, poor matchmaking, 4 vs 4 =( gears imo one of the best games ever but online still need some work. rainbow six vegas got it since last friday and i been playing that game like a starving man on the moon, online its so cool, realistic its all about teamwork, smart killing, clever strategies, i love this game, funny thing i still got to play the campaign mode, online its so freaking cool!!! =DR6 Vegas

CMON saints row its not that bad its not perfect, not the best game, but its not that bad!!!kool games!
my first was oblivion, burnout revenge, saints row and fight night (loved them all
but i would of gotten gears soner if possible
ug, test drive wasn't a good game, but thats my opinion. Saint's Row was fun for me, but the thing that bothered me were a few bugs that caused some lockups -- still a game thats 100% worth it especially with its open ended environment.
Yes GRAW1 & 2 are fun too, but I think you've got a great 4 titles to start you off. Too many shooters and the 360 will seem stale.

Delete Saint's Row , Oblivion and get Dead Rising and Lost Planet.
How can you delete Oblivion? I'm punching myself for it not being my first purchase, its IMO the best 360 game out now. I say its a very solid line-up. Rainbow Six Vegas is the best FPS out for 360 and Saints Row is good if you dont mind countless slang and stereotypes. Gears is overrated but you'll probably love it.THOSE GAMES ARE TERRIBLEfor achievements. and what else is there really?Soupass1Actually, Oblivion isn't that hard for achievements, but takes a crapload of time getting all of them. I played about 45 hours and have about 750 points on it.

All those are good but Saints Row. Its a good game but its not my kind of game, I dont care for the GTA series and its a complete rip/off of it.
