I ask because I look at Gamespot's main poll and it says most people think downloadable games are a "phase".... I mean I think it's pretty clear it'll be exclusively downloadable games in possibly the next generation.

I've found brain stretching games like Schizoid, fun party games like Bomberman, good competitive games like Street Fighter and Small Arms, classic genres given new life with games like Assault Heroes and Geometry Wars, cool/crazy games like Braid, and extensions of console games are coming up with the new Portal. It's becoming almost all I care about. (not entirely true)

How many of you buy games on XBLA? How come?

I'm not getting into games through XBLA, but I do play a lot of XBLA games. There are a few really great games on the XBLA service that are totally worth it, some are just remakes/ports but there are some good original games.

Depends on the game. I'm not big on the Xbox Originals stuff; I can buy it off eBay for 1/2 of what it costs on Live. But if I have remote interest in a Live Arcade game, it's mine.

I like a lot of the xbla games for what they are. Short, quick to pick up, easy to put down, fun games. With that said Im embarrased to admit that I have 35 or so xbla games. Most of them purchased... but some of them were gifts from contests and stuff.

Wow 35 games is packin it on. I've got 5 and with Braid, Castle Crashers, and SSF2HD REMIX coming out I'll have 8. Joust and Hexic HD were free. Ikaruga isn't out of the question in the future either.

i just buy the arcade games, because they're nice when i want to play just for a few minutes. for retail games though, i would much rather have the disk. i'm just weird like that.

I've got 33 xbla games. I actually bought most originally because my wife loves these games but find myself being more and more hooked on them.

Soon to be 36 with the pub games, Bionic Commando, and Castle Crashers.

But for full blown games I would much rather have the disc.

I guess the physical thing is kinda nice. But I'm crazy about conserving space and not losing stuff or being organized. But I'm surprised I didn't realize people had that many XBLA games. I got Braid today btw but haven't played it yet.

But the games have tons of replay value for $10.

I've got eight XBLA games. They're really great although i've been neglecting them like most of my games. I just have far too many games to play.

Yea, that's a benefit of disc-based games is that they have a trade in value. If I know I'm not going to beat a game I sell it quickly. I like XBLA though because the games are tough and replayable but not too long (if I don't want to 100% complete it)

hahah Yea I get mad at my whole family after playing a bad game. But seriously I bet Fable 2 pub games won't be the greatest, I could be wrong. But Bionic Commando is supposedly amazing.

But to demon sniper, even at $10 you still won't try them? (They all have a free demo)
