Yes, I am. That's the only way to keep up with the 2 consoles without becoming completely broke.

Agree, games are too expensive. When I buy a game it's mostly a second hand game.

I usually stick tospecific genres (Military shooters/sports), but I'll stray from time to time if the game is rated high enough or the price is right. For example, I usually avoid sci-fi/fantasy and rpgs, but then you have games like Mass Effect, Borderlands, and Fallout 3 coming out in the near and distant future, and I may not be able to pass those up.

I find reviews as entertainment just seeing what others have to say. If i want a game i know im gonna like it and pick it up. I usually buy a game every or 2 every month because i like a wide range of games. November is gonna suck gonna be getting some games for christmas lol. But ya if a game comes out and i have the money for it will pick it up if not i just wait till i can.

I am pretty picky. I have to really know that I want the game before I buy it. Throwing down 60 bucks for a game hurts me a little inside unless I know its going to be worth it.

ActuallyI am picky with new games... when I get used games from blockbuster.. ot so much just exploring games even if they are not amazing.. but for 9.99 or 14.99 they are worth it.

I listen to reviews, generally. I have a few sources I really trust, and base most of my purchases on it. However,I won't buy games that get stellar reviews that are in genre I'm not interested in. A good example is Forza 2. It got great reviews, but I don't care for racing games, so... pass.

i used to rent a lot of games, just to try them out. But i've pretty much stopped doing that now, since the release of Halo 3.

I use gamefly alot, Then If i really want the game i'll wait till it is 20-30 on gamefly in a month after release then keep it. However reviews i look at for the features of the game. However some reviewers just hate games I love like Dynasty Warriors.

I don't care about reviewer scores much when selecting games to play. I have had tons of fun with games that got low ratings and mediocre times with games that got rated high.

I pretty much buy everything that comes out that I might have any interest in. I have like 100 360 games now and bought most of them new.

I am extremely selective in the games I play/buy. (I should note that if someone just gives me a game, or lets me borrow it, I'll try anything, the same goes for demos, but buying and spending money on a game is a different story) I will wait for reviews of games on a few different website I take into account, Gamespot being one of them, and then go buy if and only if it has received above an 8.0 on any of the sites, unless of course it is a game I have very particular interest in, for instance I am a wrestling fan, and unless a wrestling game gets under a 6.0 I probably will buy it. So the majority of my collection for my 360 is comprised of games above that 8.0 mark, and games below I usually don't bother with. This also helps me in waiting for new good games to come out, because the games I do buy usually have good replay value.

Sorry for the double post, but I forgot another point I was trying to make.

Another reason for myself only buying really good games is because I do not want to supply game companies with money for making bad games, thus giving them the impression that it is "ok" to make bad games. Instead I go buy good games brand new, and really good games I'll buy the collectors editions for to show the company not only respect for churning out a good title, but also to give them a clue as to, "this game is good, make more like it". Peace.

I've started to get very picky, since I'm buying new games. till now, most games I've wanted have been out afew years, so are dirt cheap.

But now, I wait, see the general feedback a game gets as well as the gameplay I've seen myself, and make up my mind. I can afford all those I want anyway, I just don't like wasting money.

Agreed. I tend to read reviews, check out games that I think I like and then go for them. I rarely go for a game in a genre I know I am not going to like, and your example is relevant for me too. Although, having said that I was drawn to Viva Pinata for some reason and that is not really am game that I go for usually..
