Assassin's Creed Controversial Ideas?

The assassins are atheists (don't believe in religion) so that could offend some people.

The game also deals with slavery which could be offensive to some.

Most of the controversial material is dealing with religion.

You will find town criers,in Muslim cities preaching against christianity and it's "heathen" king Richard,and in Christian towns you will find criers preaching against Islam and it's "barbarian" general saladin.Anyway,it probably won't offend anyone except the most conservative muslim or christian......

i found some people are offended just because your playing as an Arab Muslim. people are most offended by playing as one when i cod4, you kill them. great job idiots.

besides that, if ur not offended by that, which u shudn't, its an AMAZING game and one of my personal alltime favs.

Al-tiar is not an arab Muslim,despite the fact that his name is Arabic for "the flying one".In the novel it is implied that his name is Altiar Ibn-la ahad(which means that his full name is the flying one,son of none)his father was a muslim while his mother was a christian,he however is more of a medley of those 2 faiths(this was revealed by jade raymond).

there was a book? really? i heard about that mom christian and dad muslim. i wasnt sure it was true. i guess his full name makes sense now.

I think it has to do more with them being mad that we are most likely more intelligent than them . I know a few hardcore religious freaks who could be construed as intelligent . I don't know a single one who would be considered to possess above average common sense .

im pretty sure that the assassins are not atheists seeing as they were an offshoot sect of shia muslims (im qouting wikipedia here). also aparently one of there rituals to be initiated into the group was to be given poison to simulate dieing, then they awoke in a garden full of wine and food etc... and they were led to believe that they were in heaven and their leader hasan-i Sabbah was the representetive of divinity. now i may be wrong here but i thought atheists dont believe in heaven?

also to be honest i think ubisoft should have looked into a few more things hashshashin (the group impretty sure they based it around) seeing as theydidnt try to escape and preffered to be killed, they do have some things right but there was another group called sicarii which went into crowds killed someone then very carefully slipped away in disguise which is more like what you do in the game...

this is just my way of looking at it, if im wrong please correct me.

I found that statement more offensive than anything that was in the game. Toward the end of the game there is a plot twist which implies some things that were slightly offensive to me, but it wasn't anything really bad and is quickly forgotten.
