Alright first off I just recently was able to play the game, I was sooo excited when i got it.

The Graphics rocked and so did the gameplay moves, I mean the most fun was the jumping up high and climbing stuff.

BUt that was it.

I mean It was the SAME EXACT thing over and over. I was having fun the few 10 times but then thats all the game was, no new missions, same thing, find the towers kill these people. How come it didnt have more of a veriety?

I dunno im very dissapointed

The game's pretty crappy, why it got a 9.0 I wonder myself, I would have gave it 8.0 or even 7.5 due to it repetitivity.

I'd rather they focus on a few activities and implement them well, then focus on many activities and implement them half-assed.

I didn't liked it either, it all worked so slow, and it took a lot of time to get trough a simple mission because of all the climbing and un-skippable cutscenes.

it just work's too slow, i mean it lookes nice, and the fighting is pretty fun for the first few times, but after it, it gets boring.

Personally, I'm not very disappointed with Assassin's Creed. I strangely never got tired of each mission. I liked how each mission was placed in different cities and how the game play itself (having to lie low when guards caught you, being able to jump/climb/flip/dive on or off of almost everything, and the different weapons that were available the further you got into the game). I also thought the graphics were incredible, it looked extremely realistic.

I rated this game a 9.5! :)

My biggest gripe was that being an assassin means striking from the shadows and remaining undetected, which was pretty much impossible for some reason. Either that or maybe I just really sucked at it *L*

Know whats even more repetitive than Assassin's Creed?

Threads complaining about Assassin's Creed! EH OOOOHH!!

No seriously, it's getting old. About like those threads about how over rated Halo and Grand Theft auto supposedly are..

I think it's an awesome game. Doing short side missions more than once never bothered me at all, I don't see what the big deal is.

I just recently got the game too, it was very cheap so i said why not. And i was actually pleasently surprised.

The gameplay in the game is excellant, and very fun. Everything from the climbing to the combat is top notch. And i think the story is really intruiging. But i'll agree, the game they built around it wasn't spectacular. Unvaired missions and even exact same dialouge for citizens you save. But unlike you it seems, i'm able to look over that part and enjoy the game. I have high hopes that a sequal will take the excellany gameplay and use it better.

I picked the game up cheap long after it came out, I'd heard all the above mentioned criticisms and all the rave reviews and wanted to try it out for myself. In the end I though it was alright but a lot of the criticisms I'd heard were very true and I do consider it one of the most overrated games I've ever played. I'm glad I didn't pay full price for it but still glad I played it. I'll only be getting the sequel way after it comes out and I can pick it up cheaply as well.

The only thing AC did for me was the awesome combat. I wish I could have faught 50-100 guys at a time. Everything else i thought sucked including the graphics. Everything looked bleeched out and the same color of yellow/gold/tan BLEH. The reflex evasions were so sweet though. Offensively the combat kind of sucked. Performing death combo's or whatever they were called was difficult with my timing being off a half the time and the guys evading instead of blocking the other half meant i rarely connected with them.

I'm hoping AC2 all takes place in modern times and you will get to climb buildings and crap that would be so freaking sweet. Well the first building anyways lol then it would get repititve as all hell again lol. Yeah repititive mission process and no real stealth element quickly spoils this game. I dont really have any good suggestions on what they could do to fix it though.

I was pretty excited for it, but it ultimately fell short of my expectations. It was for sure pretty fun, but it did get repetitive. It was in no way a bad game, but it lost it's appeal pretty quickly after I started playing it.

I thoroughly enjoyed playing Assassin's Creed from start to finish. Once you got combo and counter attacks mastered, combat did become much easier, but it was still a fun challenge to ride around the Kingdom, alert one of the marching squads of soldiers and try to kill them all taking minimal damage. As you progressed through the memory blocks more guards were in the cities and more alert to your presence. The only aspect of AC that really annoyed me were the beggars and drunks that always got in your way at the worst times. For assassination targets I always made a point of killing the nearby beggars and drunks beforehand, to ensure they couldn't mess up my escape. If you find the combat so easy, then why not try to kill each target stealthily without being seen by the guards, and without any fighting. That makes it much more of a challenge and more fun.

I didn't find it repetitive at all. I saw the opportunity for potential repetitiveness(sp?) but I avoided it. It was quite simple really. You see all those icons on the map and you see how there's 2-4 of each type? Don't do all of the pickpockecting, then all of another kind, and so on. It was pretty easy to rotate those different types and mix it up. The combat was extremely fun. Killing one of the targets like a true assassin? I wasn't able to but I didn't really try. My sister was able to so I know it's possible. I had a lot of fun with the game, accepted it for what it was, and didn't criticise it for what it's not.

Same here. I had high hopes for this game too. I am a huge fan of the Hitman series and was foolishly expecting this game to take that style of gameplay to a whole new level.

Geez talk about a group of short sighted bunch of gamers with no patience for good games. This game was a staggering technical and Graphical achievement. The compelling and intriguing story itselfs was enough to grab hold of me and not let me put it down till it was over. The sheer fun of the battles, the variety of ways to kills foes, running up behind guards leaping in the air and stabbing them in the back of neck, nothing was more fun. Assassinating the templars with carful precision and patience. This game was a huge success and nothing less than that. I can only imagine how they will top it with the sequel.

The game was pretty bad imo.

The first hour you play are fun. The game looks good and its somewhat fun at first.

But after a few hours it gets very boring and repetative.

Its the only game on xbox360 that i wish i didnt buy!

6.5/10 for me!!

I dont understand how gamepsot can give Assassins Creed 9/10 and then games like Mass Effect, Lost Odyssey and Last Remnant lower.

The graphics where amazing yes.

But i need a good story in a game more th time. And IMO this gam had a TERRIBLE story. I bought the game and have beat it and its just not a very good game, at all. The fact that you say it has a compelling story baffles me. I can see you saying the graphics are good or gameplay was fun, but the story??? The story was one of the worst this gen!

Im sorry but i need more then just fancy graphics in a videogame. Dull gameplay and a horrible story dont cut it for m.

Own over 35 games for 360 and AC is the only one i wish i didnt buy.

Because of two things: 1. They see more than one person to pickpocket on their map and they're thinking "OMG, I have to do this more than once!!!" 2. "Do you really mean I have to assassinate 9 people? OMG, that's so repetitive." People that complain about the story? It's actually a pretty creative story if you think about it. You're a guy in present day who's been kidnapped because of an ancestor and forced to relive his memories buried in your DNA. That's a pretty cool Science Fiction plot I think. People just don't have patience anymore and it's probably, partly, shooters to blame for it. Shooters provide instant gratification, instant story explanation, etc without the player being forced to use their brain hence the story automatically sucks.

Or maybe you could create a post that actually has some thought and logical reasoning behind it that also just happens to contribute to the thread instead of just personally attacking someone. Isn't that a novel idea?

I totally love it, but at first I didn't. When I started to pay reall cocky I had fun, doing almost everything high profile and fighting alot but running even more. I thought that the fighting sucked at first until I figured out how to fight good and I had alot of fun. I think the game had plenty variety but you have to apprecite little things. I think there were many small details that you have to pick up on to really appreciate it.

I played through the game in about 2 days and didn't find it too repetitive. I think it helps if you play through it really quickly. It keeps the game from getting too stale. My main complaint with the game is the lack of subtitles. Since I'm hard of hearing I had to look up a poorly written game script to catch up with the story. Seriously though, these days when games cost millions to make, they can't implement such a small feature as subtitles? That typically determines whether I pay full price for a new game or wait for it to hit the used bargain bin.

You only have to do a handful of stupid "side-missions" to gather the evidence needed to get green lit by the assassins guild to go and kill your target right?? I found it repititive because I climbed every stupid tower and did every stupid side-quest. That was my choice though. Some of you guys are saying you didnt even finish the game and just with the bare minimunum amount of side-quests ?? Thats way to harsh/lazy in my opinion.

The game's pretty crappy, why it got a 9.0 I wonder myself, I would have gave it 8.0 or even 7.5 due to it repetitivity.

zaku101
You feel it's crappy...so you would have given it a score of "Great" or even "Good"? That makes no sense.

I loved Assassin's Creed. The exploration and climbing was fun, the assassinations were thrilling, and the repitition didn't really bother me, mostly because the fantastic story kept me interested and motivated enough to plow through. By far my favorite console game.

I've heard quite a few people say this, but throughout the game i hardly got bored at all! It would be cool if you could unlock newer side missions as well, but this did in no way make me avoid the game. I find that the simplicity and repetitivity yet keeping the player occupied is very skillful. You need to notice the finer things like changes in scenery... it really is versatile if you look. :)
