I'm thinking of picking up this game since I have a gift card to waste but before I do, would any of you recommend it? I've been sort of looking for a game that deals more with a storyline rather than just shoot and kill. Or should I just wait for Army of 2 to come out? Either way I think I will get Army of 2 as well!

Yea it`s pretty sweet. FWIW I am getting Army of 2 and Vegas 2. Can`t wait for March! Mass Effect was really good and has better replay value IMO, you may want to consider it as well.

Assassin's Creed seems to be a hit or miss game for people. I, for one, couldn't stand it. After the fourth assassination it got tedious and boring. The story does pick up a bit at the end, but all in all, for me personally I think it's a rental at best.

As far as Army of Two, I'm a bit sceptical of this one. The reviewable release they did back in November was a piece of dog brownie. I know they have revamped the game, removed a good portion of the vehicle sections and tweaked the overall experience, but I'd wait for the reviews to flush this one out. As of right now I don't see a ton of replayability. Though I have been looking forward to this game for some time.

Oh and since someone else mentioned it. Mass Effect is a fantastic game and I have played through the game twice and enjoyed it the second just as much the first.

There's no replay value, you'll finish in about 20 hours. Pretty looking game and quite detailed world maimed by surprisingly monotonous gameplay.

I didn't like it. The graphics are amazing but it lacks substance seeing as how it feels really repetetive. Free roam games should always utilize spontaneity. You will basically do three events; save citizens, pick pocket and climb to high points. After you've done this about 10 or 15 times you get to assassinate your target.

The assassinations are the only truly fun part imo, because it allows for creativity in how you want to take your enemy down. After that its back to doing the same repetitive events until your next assassination. I would only pick it up if it were on sale which every month or so it drops to around $40. If you don't mind repetition then its a deffinate buy.

i would say go for it, especially if you like games that are taken from a actual time period

the mission can be quite repetitive, but most games do the same things anyway....i would recommend it, its almost as good and immense version of a game world as bioshock...almost

I just beat it this week and absolutely loved it.

Throwing people off of roofs, stealth kills, leaps of faith - so much fun. The swordplay can be a bit tedious, but everything else makes up for it. And if you pay close attention to the story, the repetition of tasks isn't as bad.

imo its a good game but like a few other people said it is a hit and miss for some gamers. i dont think it sucks but it can get pretty repetitive (you can argue that any game is; i guess it just comes down to what you like to do more) with that said the game is kinda too easy. and the story is kinda lacking...until the end..

THe game is good for the first couple of missions then it just gets way to repetative. Save a couple of citizens here, climb a couple of buildings there, pickpocket some people. assassination, then start all over. I just finished the game to see the ending. The thing that saved the game was the combat. It was pretty good, you have to time your attacks instead of just button mashing. BUt it's got zero replayability. Probably best as a rental. Good thing i didn't buy it. I got it as a gift heh heh.

I loved it.

If you enjoy exploration this is an amazing game. I can just climb around looking out over the cities for hours. I also really enjoyed the gameplay systems (combat, crowd interaction). The only drawback from my perspective are the sidequests and even those are fun imo. I mean I know I played world 1-1 on mario at least 10,000 times and it's still fun.

It's a really good game.

You may want to rent it first though. A lot of people complain about it.

It's sort of a love it or hate it game.

once i beat it, it was like ehh..time to take it back to my friends house. not a lot of replayability. youd be better off renting the game and waiting for another game to come out.

it's pretty good, but heres the thing: it will probably be seen on sale for 40 or less, so don't spend 60 on it.
