Assassin's Creed - spectacular?

Hey, i am getting a 360 for Christmas, and can not wait. But it is tough for me to choose my first game to get because i know it will be a little bit before i get another one.

So Tonight i have been looking at demos and stuff of assassins creed, and it looks like the best game i have ever seen... But I am not too sure, the demos/trailers are limited. Plus, i have no idea about the general plot to the story..

So can anyone give me their opinion on this game? and whether to choose it over- bioshock, COD4, EA skate, Proving Ground, GH3 and any others that could be good that you might suggest. Also a link to where or a rundown on the storyline of the game would be nice if you could help me out a bit there.

Assassins Creed is a good game and will probably last 10-15 hours. If you wanted something more then that then Bioshock or Mass Effect would be a better choice for you.

Assassin's creed and bioshock have about the same play time, in my opinion Assassin's Creed is much better

my friend has assasins creed and he said it was amazing but ver confusing ending.

in my opinion the story doesnt matter so much to me

It is repetitive, you will do the same thing 10 times over 10-15hrs. As long as repetitive game-play doesn't bother you, you will enjoy the game.visceron

If your getting XBL then ill would go with CoD4 and i know alot of ppl are going to get annoyed withwhat i'm going to say but halo 3 as well. Both these gameshave great muiltiplayers. Halo 3 has a crappy singleplayer and CoD4 has a pretty good one. CoD4 i notice is played by older gamers so you won't get screaming 12yrs olds like in halo 3 but its fun to kill americans in halo 3. (i'm an Australian)

^Agreed, I finished Bioshock in a weekend and I'm not the type to rush through games. Mass Effect is definitely best bang for buck right now. I'm 20 hours in and have barely touched the main plot.pinionxl

Hiya,I've just ordered an xbox360 4 christmas. After trailing endless webpages of games. The best 2 games i wanted were Assasins creed and Halo 3. Looking on the experience website, it look absolutely amazing.

Get Mass Effect, CoD4, Orange Box, and a few others before you even think about AC :P Stay the hell away from Halo, it's a let-down special imo.

assassins creed is good, but like everyone says it repeats itself to much and you find yourself doing the same thing which can get boring after a while. definatley get gears of war tho.

AC- Fun but repetitive try renting it first then you can probally beat it and still have a fun experience, but if you dont mind repetitivness then go ahead then get it.

Bioshock- My fave on the 360 so im biased torwards it but its fun and immersive with at least 1 or 2 playthroughs for most people, its also really immersive so id say to consider it.

COD4- Go for it if you have live its great online and doesent get boring better value than Bioshock and AC, but without live dont get it, and you cant have 2 people on the same console so if you play with friends online a lot then dont get it.

Halo 3- Fun good multiplayer okay single player lots of custimiability to it way better offline the COD4 so if you play with friends offline then get this over COD4

Mass Effect- My 2nd fave on the 360 interisting story and great character development, plus fun combat, will last you longer than AC or Bio probally has good replay value too, i havent beat it yet.

lol thats great killing the americans we do tend to scream a lot over the mic i guess

I haven't play AC yet (getting it for Christmas), but it does look very good.

Mass Effect may be a better choice for a first game though (it will last longer).

AC requires a certain openness from gamers, to be appreciated for what it is. It also requires patience and you kinda have to me curious enough to find out more. If you are this type of gamer, AC will fit you.

any one of the following are head and shoulders above AC - R6LV, orange box, COD4, Gears, Bioshock or oblivion

same i am getting my 360 4 Xmas and after hours of tedious research i picked Assassins Creed and Halo 3 as my top 2. CoD 4, Mass Effect and Bioshock were all up there though.

Well in my opinion it would be bioshock and The orange box, orange box will last you a very long time especially if u can go online for team fortress and of course half-life 2 isnt very short either but yeah Bioshock and orange box best games ive played, assassins creed to me should of been more like splinter cell i like the whole stealthy feel but then again thats just me xD

im getting a 360 as well, here is my list so far Gears Of War, Dead Rising, Mass Effect, Enchanted Arms Or Eternal Sonata??? which is better??, Perfect Dark?, Lost Planet?

Any Ideas?

dont get enchanted arms lost planet or perfect and get bioshock and the orange box and maybe graw 1 or 2or R6Vegas.
