Assassin's Creed, where will number 3 be?

Ok so I have been reading about the sequel to Assassin's Creed (looks aesome by the way) and I can't help but wonder, If they skipped 300 years and moved the setting into Italy, then where and when would the 3rd game be based? What do you guys think?

I think its to hard to predict. Remember that the battle between the templars and assassins is stretching over the centuries, so it could anywhere really. I dont think it necesisarily has to be later then Assassin's Creed 2, it could be between 1 and 2, since the game is all pretty much a flashback they could get away with going back in time without making it a prequel as long as its forward in time for Desmond (if that makes since). I partial wonder though if the last game in the series (whatever number that might be) will be in modern times. Like a NYC type thing, where the battle would end. It could be cool although it wouldnt really feel like Assassins Creed anymore.

Or maybe it will be in the American Revolution time period which could be kind of cool if they could incorparate the stories together. Maybe the colonists could be the assassins trying to be free of the templars or something like that.

*spoilers for AC1 plot* Given what happens in AC1 I would expect quite a bit of the third game to be set in the present day with Desmond, Lucy and the modern day assassinsAvenger1324

I agree. It would make perfect sense, although I have a feeling the gameplay would change a lot by then. So maybe not...

They would definetly want the same type of game play. Assassin's Creed will not become a shooter, so I would guess maybe pre- Revolutionary War. Although gears90 does have a good point.

Is Desmond from the U.S.? I can't remember. If so there should be a story of his ancestor in America.

Ok so I have been reading about the sequel to Assassin's Creed (looks aesome by the way) and I can't help but wonder, If they skipped 300 years and moved the setting into Italy, then where and when would the 3rd game be based? What do you guys think?

The lab where Desmond is being held could be 300 years in the future, and him not being aware of it.

Or... We are actaully playing someone else in the future who is playing Desmonds memory's of being held captive playing Altairs memory's.

The animus plays the person's memories.. I don't know about you but I don't have any memories about the future. So unless Desmond is also a psychic, it will not be set 300 years in the future.

To the above poster... I think Desmond and Lucy will be in number 2... Here is my prediction for the Assassin's Creed 2 Story:

Desmond and Lucy are trapped in the Templar building... in an effort to find out the Templar's plan of taking over the world... they find some files that mention Dezio and his decendant as other potential candidates for using the Animus (like Desmond and the Assassin before him who killed himself...)... Lucy and Desmond escape and attempt to find Dezio's decendant... but Dezio's decendant is captured anyways... now Desmond and Lucy must try to free him from the Templars, while at the same time Dezio's decendant is put into the Animus so the Templars can discover whatever it is they are attempting to discover...

The game takes place in November of 2012... you can see that if you use any of the computers in the game... and the Templars are planning to launch their satalites equipped with the mind altering objects from Assassin's Creed 1 in December of 2012... Which is why one of the cryptic messages written in blood at the end of the game mentons December 21, 2012... the day the templars go through with their plan and the day many are speculated is the end of the world... And that end of the world stuff is reality, not just an in-game thing... (I am not saying the world will end then, I am just saying people in the real world believe that...)

Okay, I dont think you get what I'm on about...

In the game we are playing someone, who is accessing memory of his ancestors to obtain information. But what if Desmond is also a memory, exactly like Altiar?

If the information we needed was to far back, or could not be obtained via a direct memory, you would have to use the memory, of someone using a memory to obtain the information.

so yeah. this game basically has all the freedom in the world. they can keep it old school with the old layout an controls. keeping most of the action close-quarters and hand to hand stuff. or they could completely switch it up into a first person tactical type game (say splinter cell with more give) honestly the possibilities are endless. i really don't think this game is bound to any one type of style. just as assassins have changed throughout time, so shall this game.

I hope it will be something like 19 centuty in France some referance to Napoleon and all this stuff
