Hi everyone,

first off, thanks for your help. I recently bought NFS: Hot Pursuit and I cannot play the game unless I unplug my ethernet cable. If the cable remains connected, I remain stalled at the intro screen where it says " Connecting to Autolog Servers...Starting Autolog in Connected Mode".

I downloaded the 280mb 1.1 update (not sure if it installs automatically).

Please help me, I am quite frustrated.

Thanks in advance!

Delete the 1.1 update from your harddrive and try playing it. It should prompt you to do an update. Afterwards you can redownload the version 1.1. If that doesn't work, I would try it again. Don't download the 1.1 untill you're sure the game is working fine for you. I had problems with it as well. I hope this solves it for your case.

Thanks alot for your help. Unfortunately I had installed the 1.1 update because I was hoping that it would fix the autolog issue.

I tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it, I also installed that tiny 688kb patch twice now and still cannot play. Quite frustrating.

Anything else you guys can recommend me?

Thanks!

It turns out that I had to call EA customer support. For some reason my autolog registration (which I was never able to register to in the first place since I couldnt start the game with my ethernet cable plugged into my xbox) was stuck to "pending". They simply released it and it started working normally. It took THREE EA reps to figure out this simple problem. They even asked me to open ports in my router and to change the date in my xbox to November 11, 2005....which was completely useless. Hope this will help someone!
