When is MS actually going to make these rewards available? i'm tired of just seeing the option on the dashboard pop-up menu.

What are the Awards gonna be? Something like achievements, or clothing/items for your avatar?

I think avatar rewards works like another incentive to buy a game. I mean, it's a pretty cool ideia.

I assume they could be anything. "Splosion Man is the first game that was supposed to have Avatar Rewards but so far nothing. It's 4 shirts. Here's the story.

It's going to be like trophies on PS3, in that they've announced it, but it's going to take a while for things to start actually happening.

That, and Games on Demand. There are only a handful that are worth downloading.

They are items for you Avatar like clothes, bags etc. The reason for the delay is that developers only found out about it when everyone else did. We are working on an XBLA game wth Avatar support and MS asked us to include Avatar Rewards but we don't know if we will have the time. The game was already a long way through development and nearly finished so you can't just stick more stuff in. I am sure you will see more games supporting Rewards now that Devs know about them and can plan to include them.

t-shirts of the game would be cool, but these items should also be relative to the game. For example; NHL 10 - win the Stanley Cup and your reward is a Stanley Cup ring you your avatar. Stuff along those lines for sports games. For shooters like COD, how about a medal or pin to put on your avatar when you beat it on veteran?

These are the sorts of things that i think should be rewards, not just t-shirts.

I 100% agree. This is the first thing that i thought of when i first heard of Rewards. Very specific items for certain accomplishments. I saw a stat that said less than 2% of people that played CoD4 online had the Mile High achievement. A reward for something like would be sweet. But the 'Splosion man rewards, which are supposedly the first to come out, are lame. Break a pane of glass and beat the game on co-op? You break a pane of glass in the first level if you want to or not. That's not much of a reward. They might as well give you stuff for pausing the game. I hope rewards don't come down to things like this.

yeah, some achievements aren't really achievements. hopefully rewards are for actual things that are tough. But, of course, i want to get these rewards, so they can't be impossible. Game companies, by making the rewards like t-shirts of the game easier to unlock, get their name out there because people will wear the item.

When I think of a "reward" I think of something actually tangable, even if it's in a virtual way. I don't want a number or a trophy. An avatar item would be pretty cool I guess. They really don't need to go overboard like they did with achievements though. I would like to see only the really good games have them, and even then, only one per game for a really hard feat. I think a Spartan helmet for beating Halo 3 on Legendary by yourself would be an awesome reward for something hard to do.

The lack of is very annoying. We'd be better off not knowing it was going to happen rather than wait months and get close to nothing.

Well they did come out, howeveryou have to pay microsoft points for them rather than unlocking them, well basically what I'm saying is that the stuff that should have been awards have been, instead, released to the avatar marketplace, which sucks because stuff like the cog suit, or odst suit, should be rewards, not cheap, useless, and most importantly, priced items

to some, i can see how the idea of avatar's is silly or pointless and they do not care about rewards and such, but to others, it's about creating an identity. It might seem useless now to dress up your avatar, since, unless the person is added as your friend, you rarely see the avatar. But as more and more games come out that use avatar's as characters or are featured in game, the rewards and clothes become more and more relevant and interesting. Games like Guitar Hero 5 ( i think), Joy Ride, and the 1 vs 100 game feature avatars as characters, so dressing up is pretty cool. BUt i'm not keen on paying a lot for the items, so i hope that the rewards are cool.

^ I totally see your point now! I really hope they put in an online Salvation Army full of old Jnco jeans and LA Gear shoes because I want my avatar's identity to be one cheap bastard who would rather spend money on games for his video game system rather than fake clothes.
