Avatars are free, stop complaining about them!

Why are so many people like Avatars are [stupid]?

Its free! jesus so many people in the world will never be happy

And many people, including myself, thoroughly enjoy customizing our own characters

so answer me this, why the **** are you complaining about this?

Avatars are free, but what about future clothing and customizable stuff? Most likely MS will charge for those neat clothing.

Also, MS has stated people can still use their gamerpics and themes, they're not going anywhere.

the real issue is some people paid for gamerpics (me not included), so everyone thinks microsoft just ripped them off by pretty much making their purchase more useless then it actually was.Blackhawk692

microsoft already mentioned they plan on giving out stuff thru achievements or as prizes in the gameshows.

Some outfits and gear through achievements and gamerscore. They also mentioned a store... and purchasing... which leads me to believe that if you want to look good, you're going to have to shell out MS Points... and MS Points = Paying for them.TrueProphecy22

That'd be pretty cool unlocking stuff through achievements, like getting new clothes, faces, expressions, etc. by getting a certain amount of gamerscore, that would make it a bit better coz everyone won't have the same stuff. And if you don't want the update can't you just not connect to live and not recieve the update if your that desperate?

Well dude deal with it cause nothing you do or say is going to change the fact that this fall everyone's console (or eventually everyones console) is going to have Avatars on it. If you don't like it then don't utilize it, and if it bugs you that much then buy a different system... wait nope can't do that cause the Wii has avatars, and PS3 is getting Home with their own avatars. Well man it looks like your **** outta luck might as well as stop playing video games now. Hold up did you know most games lets you customize your characters to make them look how you like it, do you know what that is called? Yep, you guessed it its called an Avatar! Looks like your in the wrong hobby.

I personally dont like the idea. But this could also pull in more money which MS could use to buy over more games. I dont like Final Fantasy at all but it cost MS money to make that happen. So this could help the hardcore gamers in the long run which I do like.

Apparently people think that if we have Mii-esque avatars implemented into Xbox Live it will somehow magically turn their precious copy of Halo 3 into Ninjabread Man.

And I'm sorry, but in my opinion if you actually paid money for a little picture to put next to your name then you obviously don't understand the value of a dollar and deserve to get ripped off.

The funny thing about all of this is that the people crying that they're going to lose the $5 they've spent on themes and pics are the same people saying that if you think $10 for a couple maps or $50 a year for Xbox is too much then you're "cheap" or "poor".

Wow, you guys have gone on and on about how all this stuff isn't a lot of money and how everyone else is just cheap, but now that you may possibly be losing something you paid a couple bucks for a year ago you're throwing a hissy fit.

If I spent $10 for a picture to put next to my gamertag on my console I would feel ripped off regardless of whether I only got to use it for a year or not.

I actually did buy a pack of gamerpics once. I had some leftover points and it was like 60 points so I got some. I used one for like a month and then switched to something else. Though I did feel like I totally wasted my money on something stupid, I still got a months use out of it, so even if I was still using that pic I wouldn't feel that Microsoft somehow betrayed me by making me lose something I paid less than a dollar for.

Besides the fact that you can STILL USE THE GAMERPICS after the update, even if you couldn't so what? My point is that if you guys are spending that much money of stupid crap like pics and themes to make your Xbox look "cooler" then you really have noone to blame but yourselves. Obviously you have money to blow on stupid crap to begin with, and remember? $10 isn't a lot of money.... what are you cheap?

Seriously... given the choice between some lame picture of Master Chief that umpteem million other people are using or a fully customizable avatar that I can make completely original and fit my personality I'd choose the latter. Even if "kiddy" Nintendo did do it first.

i actually think it could be fun making avatars and god its time for a change on xbox live its been this way since 2005 so role on the new update.

Since my last post got modded cause i guess I was too mean to you I'm gonna try again. Go to google and type define:avatar and just see what comes up. Here is what I found in less than two seconds.
