Backwards Compatibility - What's Missing?

I'm a huge collector but I'm relativley new to the Xbox scene. I got a GameCube last generation because of the Sonic exclusives but I switched to Microsoft for this generation to get Sonic 360. Since then I have built a small collection of Xbox and Xbox 360 titles. Since I missed Xbox last generation what are some of the console defining titles I missed? And What titles are seriously glaring omissions from the Backwards compatibility list? I already have several solid Xbox titles like Doom 3, Half-Life 2 and Panzer Dragoon that I missed and they work great on 360 but I noticed several titles that I wanted to play last generation are simply missing from the list, such as: Area 51, Dino Crisis 3 and Castlevania. I still have every intention of buying them but there seems to be no guarantee that they will ever become supported. So I thought that I should assemble a list of incompatible games with help from the community to approach Microsoft with. What games do you think need to be added to the list right away?

-Castlevania: Curse of Darkness

Also, What would be good alternative to waiting for Microsoft to support the titles? If each game uses the same emulator and every game simply needs it's own profile to run mabye Microsoft could release a program for us to create our own profiles for un-supported titles. Many people in the community would be capable of getting the games running on their own if they were given a chance and I for one would like to be given that chance.

i heard there donr making BC games, witch would make sence if there just going to add em to XBL DL content-i guess that way they make more money :|

SSX Tricky was classic and it's not backwards compatible. Neither is Defjam: Fight for New York, and they've got the first Prince of Persia on their backwards compatability list but not the second and third one and that was a very popular series. Other then I can't really complain, though there are some games that are in working order yet have problems, like Red Dead Revolver and Deathrow.

Red Dead Revolver has a glitch in it where if you get to close to one of the bosses it locks up, which is annoying but it's possible to pass it without it happening, and Deathrow has some graphical glitches in the menu's and some general music problems.
So I'm sure there are others on the list that aren't playing correctly, and there may even be games on the list that have potentially game breaking flaws to them but I'm not aware of any myself.

They can't add a game to Xbox Originals without it being backwards compatible first. The Xbox Originals is just an extension of the BC system.

You know what, I would rather they just move on now. They got a good number of titles out there for BC, and sure there are some holes but I think they done a pretty good job. Its time to focus on 360 games in my opinion because it has been out for a good while now. Although, I still have my orginial xbox set up to play these games if need be, which is maybe why I don't mind if they don't work of BC anymore.Caddy06_88

I think nearly perfect BC is something that we should have had back when the 360 launched, It's become something that should be standard. And I wish I had an original Xbox lying around so I could play these games, mabye it's an investment I should make. But it also seems silly to think that I have to go out and get last generation's model to play a handful of games I really want to play right now when this model should be fully capable, I don't know if i'm nitpicking... o well, I'll wait another couple of months and see what happens. In the meantime, what else is missing from the list?

I'd like to see Midtown Madness 3 and Rallisport Challenge 2 added to the BC list. TheMadGamer

Oh man, MM3 was the best. I love that game.

The only alternative to waiting for Microsoft to emulate the missing Xbox games is to buy an original Xbox. They stated they probably will not be emulating the remaining games, so for gamers this seems the only alternative. Here is my list of games I would like to see emulated, but will probably look for an original Xbox to play on.

I have e-mailed that address several times, with each letter asking for a reply but I never get one despite the fact that the BC Faq on xbox.com says they read every letter. I doubt they check that inbox anymore, despite this we should still continue to e-mail them. Anybody who cares should send their personal thoughts on BC and than the list I have been putting together. I've been getting replys at 2 other forums: AtariAge and Xbox.com. So far this is the list of wanted titles:
