Backwards compatibility woes

Albert Penello: Very few people were actually using the functuality, and the programming team's resources could be spent better elsewhere. One day it would probably stop. And I think that's going to be hard for people because they're going to feel like nobody was listening.

i always play my original Xbox games. And have been making a list of games to buy that i was looking forward to playing.

I'd never get rid of my original Xbox, for the following reasons:

Otogi

Otogi 2

Steel Battalion

Also, Morrowind was far superior on PC.

I'm still crying about no Morrowind... there was post after post and petetions and everything for it and Microsoft still hasnt put it on BC/XBO. Glitchhawk

MS does not have the rights to put the original Xbox GPU inside the 360 and since they switch GPU chipsets from Nvidia to ATI they have to pay royalties to have Xbox hardware emulated. MS has gotten quite a few things right btw; you are playing their console. Not saying any entity is perfect but MS is not evil,

I see I see, I didn't know all the details so thx for the info! I still dont like microsoft no matter what system I play though sir, so saying that is irrelevant, they have messed up coding for years and I thought that's what caused this,

The 360 is my first departure from Nintendo, so backward compatibility isn't an issue for me. You guys should be happy with the 360 for what it is, though. Awesome games!looknostamp

I used to care about BC, but now not so much anymore. I still think they should finish the job on that for all the retro gamers out there.SpikedStrider

yeah, I wish M$ would just finish the damn BC job already! But no they are instead wasting time and $ on Avatars and lame dashboard updates..........

I wanna play The Warriors on my xbox360 dammit!....hooking up my big old bulky xbox just to play that one game is a pain....not to mention i dont have component cables for my xbox, so the graphics look like garbage on an hdtv.

umm...morrowind is backwards compatible....just not the game of the year edition

Well all of the new consoles are BC so why not Microsoft? Wii plays Gamecube games, the fancy PS3's are backwards for PS2 and Ps1 games. Even the PS2 was BC with PS1 games.

The least they could do is add to the list to make it worth it to the people who have been waiting. i don't feel like having 2 xboxes hooked up when i can barely fit a 360 with the rest of my systems.

The first 60GB PS3 did have backwards compatibility, but that was stopped with the 40GB and now 80GB versions. Unless you can find a preowned 60GB PS3 you cannot play PS2 games on a PS3

i don't get how that's true because my brother in law has a PS3 and he's able to play the 3 pack of GTA PS2 games.iamnessie

Well see the thing is Sony took out BC and a few other features like 4 USB slots and the card reader from the PS3s

These are the PS3s with 75-100% BC

• 20 gig
• 60 gig
• Original 80 gig

These are the Consoles without BC.These are the consoles that are easy to find.

• 40 gig
• new 80 gig
• 160 gig.

i wish they would atleast add a few more games to the list..or atleast on xbl originals.

my (our) best bet is probably just get an original xbox again.

ya they waste time putting xbox originals on market place, but they dont update the bc list, this is bull microsoft i just want my timesplitters and driver series,

4 freaking games, thats all i ask , but i dont get because microsofts to busy with rares period lol
