Everyone probably knows that you can purchase a "shortcut" for all the different kits in BC2's multiplayer. Even if I don't purchase the shotcuts and just unlock the last weapon legitimately, am I still able to unlock the achievements associated with those weapons ("Get All SPECACT Pins and Awards with the _____ Class)?

I want to say yes, but does anyone know for sure?

Thanks.

Are you asking if you can unlock the SPECACT Achievements with just the regular versions of the weapons? If that's the case, no.

Sorry if it wasn't very clear.

What I meant was, if I just go about playing Battlefield multiplayer and unlock the weapon in question, without actually buying the $3 or whatever it is Shortcut Pack, am I elible for this achievement?

For example, the only thing left for me to unlock in the Medic class is the MG3, which is the weapon featured in the SPECACT achievement. Can I legitimately unlock the MG3 through regular play and point-earning, without paying for it, and get the achievement after I get a kill-streak of 5, kill 8 enemies in a match, and get 100 overall kills with this gun?

No. The SA editions of the weapons are slightly different (most in apperance, MG3 in actual use) and those achievements relate ONLY to the SA weapons

My man you are making zero since to me, but I'll try and break it down. The only achievements that you have to get via buying extra content are the SPECAT and Onslaught achievements. Other than that, by playing the game normally, yes you will unlock the achievements all the way through to the MG3. I think your confusion lies with the Thompson and M1 Grand, which require the Limited edition and having Veteran status to unlock. I hope this helps.

Alright, this is the answer I was looking for. Thank you. I have noticed that the SA weapons have different camo and patterns on them, so I guess you have to use those specific guns for the achievements.

lol no man, I have the Thompson and the M1 Garand, I wasn't confused about that. Someone else answered my question, but I do appreciate the effort, man.
