I was expecting an 8.5 at least, but oh well, if you enjoyed the demo, you'll most likely enjoy this game.

Why Rare? All I wanted was a simple platformer with childish grafics and the Banjo charm from the ol' Nintendo 64. Is that too hard to ask? Was your bloodthirst not satisfied with Perfect Dark Zero?!!!!
Just gimme Banjo-Tooie on Xbox Marketplace and I'll pretend that you guys didn't destroy too of my favorite franchises.
Banjo Tooie is coming in January 2009.Why Rare? All I wanted was a simple platformer with childish grafics and the Banjo charm from the ol' Nintendo 64. Is that too hard to ask? Was your bloodthirst not satisfied with Perfect Dark Zero?!!!!

Erik Brudvig states in his review that Rare was just moving with the times. I have absolute hate for Rare now. Man when Banjo was first announced I thought I was getting the platformer that xbox deserves, but it's just a racing game. Why Rare? I'm with ya on that one. This is one game that actually needs the Ninitendo "kiddie" image and platformer characteristics. I don't buy Banjo games to make vehicles...Why Rare? That's what most people don't know about sadly.and BTW its a platformer with RACING/CREATING elements in it aswell. You still have to run around and get parts for your car in a platform style.
Sure its nto 100% platformer, but its still mainly a platformer just with new elements of racing/creating.

I played the demo, I've seen gameplay vids and I watched the IGN review. I don't know if I'm just being closed minded but I'll have the old Banjo games thank you very much and I know there are a lot of Banjo fans that feel the same way as I do. The fact is that the 360 could use a quality platformer and it didn't get one with Nuts and Bolts.
Respect the fact that many fans are dissapointed like I respect that some fans are pleased.

I understand that it has been almost 10 years since the n64 games but sometings never age. Those two wonderful games didn't age. I still play those two games and I was expecting a Banjo game with updated graphics and a few new gameplay twists not a 30% platform 70% racer\ car builder game.
It's a sad day for all Banjo fans . :S
I'm totally getting this game as soon as its released. Yay Rare. Hype meter is at 9.
Sorry to hear some old fans are disappointed, give it a go, build a tank. :)
This is not a game I'd pay $60 for, but since I preordered it I get it for $25 which is a very good deal IMO.gamer_10001
The game only costs $40. I'll more than likely buy it because to me it still looks great.
[QUOTE="C-Lee"]awesome scoreMac8457I wouldn't say its awesome. It is more of a good score.8.3 is like 83% out of 100...that is really good.I'm not even getting this game, but that is a great score.
Just because it's not a 9 doesn't mean it sucks.

True, games like Fable 2 and Far Cry 2 are both 8.5 on here and they're great games.[QUOTE="gamer_10001"]This is not a game I'd pay $60 for, but since I preordered it I get it for $25 which is a very good deal IMO.craigalan23

I preordered it and get the original BK free on the marketplace, which would normally cost $15. $40-$15= $25
the way some of you are just asking for the same game with updated graphics is just a bit insane dont you think?
I did very much enjoy both of the N64 games and I think that they couldve dont fine just doing the same thing again.
but I kinda thought the idea of the "next gen" was to actually be innovative with old franchies and not just rehash them in HD or blu ray or any other ray. I really like that rare has taken Banjo in another direction but also hasnt completely departed from it as some appear to think and I think that change should be praised and not ridiculed.
Personally I think the possibilities of exploration and replay that even the demo itself has with so much of the game missing is pretty awesome and Im looking forward to the new one and the old ones releasing
while its a little distressing that that was possibly their only rationale for adding vehicles. I just think that it takes a dying game genre and creates a huge amount of creativity and innovation that no other banjo game ever came close in. face it. people want to be able to make their own experience and the vehicles totally lets them do that. Ill play the xbla version for my nostalgia factor and just some good ole platforming. but if I want an immersive experience that I can have endless options with. Im pretty sure N&B will be the go to game.
