Is there any problems if I take my gamertag from my console (no problems with my console) and play them on a console that has been banned from xbox live?

I'm guessing you mean on a console that has a banned gamertag as it's orginal gamertag? Yeh it's fine, it just has to be a gamertag that isn't banned.

I thought that when a console was banned, that specific console can no longer connect to XBL. I'm not sure why you'd want to move a gamertag over to a console that has no way of connecting.

To be honest, I'm not sure if that would be a problem or not. Although you're probably better off brining your console over to his place just to be safe. I don't think it's worth the risk.

Yeah, it's a possibility you could be banned when you plug your memory unit back into your xbox.

also when a console gets ban it is because the xbox has been modded and ms doesn't want it online. Microsoft doesn't care for the gamer tags on console bans. when Microsoft cares about gamer tags and when one person has done something and ms bans a gamertag

Hes talking about using a memory card unit to carry his profile over.

And I wouldnt think so dude, the console is banned not the gamertag as far as i know.

I would recommend emailing microsfot and asking about the specifics and track down their policy on bans to see if that has anything useful

Taken from Xboc.com TOS on XBL

"If you violate the Code of Conduct or the Terms of Use that you agreed to, action may be taken against your account. Some offenses warrant an immediate account cancellation, including but not limited to hacking, modding, fraud, severe racial remarks, nudity on the Xbox LIVE Vision camera, continued creation of profane gamertags or profile content, and posting viruses or URLs to viruses. In addition, trying to avoid a temporary suspension by creating alternate new accounts may result in a permanent ban on the new user account and a possible escalation of punishment to the original account and all related accounts. If you create a gamertag that has been determined to violate the Terms of Use or Code of Conduct, you will be required to change it. If you create Terms of Use or Code of Conduct violating content anywhere in the system, we may delete it and a suspension of varying length will be issued on the account depending on the frequency and severity of the infraction. If we are notified that you are abusing the voice feature or message features, your ability to use the voice and messaging system will be suspended.

Microsoft is not obligated to send you a warning before these actions occur. If your account is suspended while participating in a tournament or competition Microsoft assumes no liability in the loss of any potential prizes or recognition related to the tournament or competition. You'll be fine. The console can't connect on Xbox LIVE so even you using that mem unit it shouldn't hone any info to Microsoft. Microsoft doesn't care about the gamertag being banned for the most part, it's about the console itself. Microsoft detects the actual console that's banned so you using a mem unit on a banned console wont have any effect on yours since yours isn't modded (I'm assuming yours isn't modded). And they usually only ban gamertags for reasons usually listed in the Code of Conduct etc. and cheating.
