After a few days of exciting online play with BF's demo I'm astonished at the amount of cooperative play I've witnessed. Unlike the genre's current top dog Modern Warfare 2, there is an exquisite element of team work associated with BF. Teamwork is integrated into the system through a point system which rewards team play. Large scale maps make it counter-productive to try and be Rambo, though there are plenty of moments you do get, that offer comparable adrenaline pumping action, which the throat yanking war vet receives on a constant basis. Plain in simple. If you uphold all the truly righteous facets of a progressive Fps: realism, gritty immersion, tactical game play and a comradeship between you and you're teammates this game will be for you. I don't see how next generation MW could not cop a feel off some of the innovative things Battlefield is doing. If you never played Battlefield now is the time to give it a good try.

to me, i see mw2 as just so playable for noobs, and that's why i don't think it will be the mw2 killer. if the wii is any indication, people don't like to think while playing video games, and i think bc2 takes a few percent more brain power to play.

There's nothing wrong with camping. As far as killing Modern Warfare 2, I don't think so. But there will be alot of people, like myself, moving over to battlefield.

BC2 seems ok, but not as fast pace as MW2. i hate how people say they are moving BC2 because MW2 has so many glitches. think about it, BC2 will probably have the same if not more glitches than MW2, because of the vehicles used in BC2.

Well seeing there are no major perks, killstreaks, or care packages to worry about in BC2, and the vehicles are really easy to destroy, I don't think it will be a problem.

@manocanada

The BETA to BFBC2 had less glitches and bugs then the full product of MW2. BFBC1 had vehicles and no bugs, why would BC2?

It's not the glitches that people are really worried about. It's Infinity Ward's inability to fix them and to balance the game.

MW2 could have been so much better than it was. IW just got greedy.

you guys are right, i don't know what i was saying. MW2 is so popular that the glitches were exploited in like 2-3 months. BC is less popular so the glitches won't be exploited as fast or at all.

What glitches :)? Its number one seller (pre-orders) at Gamestop right now, it must have a fan base.

Edit: I feel sorry that the "popularity" brought along kids who glitch, an pain in the ass campers. Wasn't it like an insult to call someone a camper in Cod4?

"Ur mom!" "Oh ya? Well your a camper!" "I am sorry I take it back!"

Plus, BF:BC2 doesn't have ridiculous dual-wielding shotguns that can kill from halfway across the map.

The fast paced action differential between these games is a misconception. The fact is, that the closer a map is, the more it pushes you to act instantaneously. Larger scale maps don't mean any less fast paced action. All it means is that you're required to implement more strategy as to how you'll tackle that extra meat of land you have to cover. The pot of gold is still at the end of the rainbow. We're not dealing with apples and oranges. These are both FPSs. However more tactile strategy and patience is required to achieve that same level of domination factor, where you get the opportunity to cap 5 dudes at once.

jad206

So what do you propose everyone does? Run around with no strategy? Because that is exactly what I see in games like Call of Duty and Battlefield. Some gamers don't know when to let go of the sprint stick and are always full throttle. So when a charge is planted at A, they run full speed ahead into the base. What do many gamers and I do? We sit and wait for those runners to run into the base and pick them off. It's a strategy and it can be applied to any shooter you play.

Add something different? Why not add more weapons? How can you say dual-wielding shotguns is realistic? Or even dual-wielding machine-pistols? It's a worthless concept.

They could have allowed you to put more things on your weapons without the perk, or given you the option of choosing what type of camouflage suit your character could wear.

But no, they decided to go the brainless path of allowing characters to have more firepower. Dual-wielding weapons was added as an after-thought. Much like special-ops instead of a true co-op campaign.

Are you telling me CoD has strategy? You, have never played CoD. As applied to BF, that is not camping your defending. You will move on once that crate is gone, you will have no reason to stay there.

CoD has plenty of strategy if you play the right game types. I play mostly search and destroy. Funny, I've never played CoD, yet there it is on my gamercard.

if they did that camo stuff and co op gameplay, might as well name it rainbow six vegas 3 with a better control system.

I like the freedom to use more tactics in BC2. I wouldn't write off modern warfare though, it's still fun for some running and gunning. Many hardcore mw players I know were skeptical about BC2 but once I got them on the demo they were impressed with it.

I also feel like BC2 has a lot more thought put into it then mw2. It seems like Infinity Ward just took COD4 and added a few things people thought should have been in the first one. In Bad company 2 they've renovated everything for a much better player experience so to speak.

What's wrong with taking things that work from R6V2 and implementing them? At least with Rainbow Six Vegas 2 I was getting a quality game that improved dramatically over the first.

With MW2 I got a game that took major steps backwards compared to the first. Didn't have these ridiculous glitches and boosters in the first one.

I am fully ready for this game to come out. I do get tired of the cheap deathes MW2 provides and can't go into a match any more without someone cheating, using their friends to cheat, or just using grenade launchers the whole time. It certainly gets old with those constant problems. I do miss being able to blow a hole through a wall where a sniper is hiding or using the jeep to drive over the enemy. THe only thing that felt a little cheap sometimes in the last BF was the helicopter. But I am sure there will be some new ways to take it down this time around.

IW spit in the face of call of duty fans. whether it will kill MW2 or not i dont know, but it damn sure deserves to

I've always like the Battlefield franchise more than Call of Duty. It just offers more variety and teamwork. I still enjoy Call of Duty a lot, but I sometimes hate the "twitch" gameplay.

Awesome game. I loved the first one and I feel like that even rivals it. The second one is improved upon everything in the first, and is an even better experience. So far from the demo I've enjoyed it more so than MW2, can't wait for March 2nd, day one buy.

@kaos - Thats what really set it apart for me... How much more I enjoyed this demo, in comparison to the full MW game I've had for months. It pretty much is a slap in the face to any gaming organization when another competitor can release a demo that is more enticing than a full fledged game.

Always picked up the CoD games pretty much straight away, decided to have a go at the Battlefield: BC2 Demo after playing on the first one round my mates house and immediatley felt that I was playing as a team even though I didn't even know anyone in the game. It was a great sense of achievement when you collapse the building that crate A is currently in :) - Battlefield is a complete and utter winner over MW2 by a long shot.

i hate how people say they are moving BC2 because MW2 has so many glitches.

manocanada
Personally I think that is an excellent reason to quit MW2 and play any other game. At some point you have to lay some of the blame at the game makers as well as the gamers - the fact is the game was released with a ton of glitches/cheats and bugs and they have been inexcusably slow to deal with it, and I find it amazing that the only reporting of these problems on the major gaming sites comes from gamers posting stuff to youtube and being linked or quoted, as happened with the negative xp glitch. It's like the industry gives the series a free pass and heaps nothing but praise on the game - personally I hope a ton of players stop playing as it's the only way they will get the message.
