Battlefield 3 MASSIVE UPDATES!?!?

Sorry for wrong forum posting, but this forum's more active and I need an answer ASAP!

As I've read, battlefield 3 Xbox updates are pretty big, but I need to know the bare minimum size of updates I need for going on multiplayer. NO DLCs. Just standard maps. Because I have to decide if I'm going to get this game WITHIN MINUTES!!!

Yea Battlefield 3 updates are huge. I was very suprised when i realized they were like 1.5 and 2 gigs

Thanks for the responses. I decided to pick up battlefield 3, but there is *Sigh* one more thing. Now I looked online and I'm seeing mixed responses about making an Origin/EA account. Do I have to make one of these? I don't care about the battlelog thing, I just want to play online. That *HOPEFULLY* is it.
