Battlefield Bad Company 2 question?

hey guys i purchased bfbc2 on release but got bored of it quickly due to no friends having it so i got rid of it, but now im planning on picking it back up this christmas. my question is since i used a VIP code once will it still be in effectand be safe to buy a used copy without the VIP? Or will i need to buy a new copy again? or is the VIP even something i absolutely need?

yeah i hear you, one of my friends got rid of the game so i dont have a teammate anymore so i rarely play, but to answer your question about VIP, your old VIP code should be valid still. I am pretty sure as soon as you type in the code it links the VIP to your EA account. So as long as you use the same EA account you should have access to all the VIP downloads and stuff (if you for some reason deleted it all). and be sure you have plenty of HDD space , there have been some BIG updates to BFBC2 lately and they total up to over 2GB i think.

I think that as long as you are using the same gamertag it will work. Although if it is not linked to gamertag i think it saves data about it to the hard drive.LordWaspy

the last update was map pack 7 and Vietnam. So if you buy it tomorrow not everyone will be dl'ing at the same time making it take 10x as long

yeah 1.68GB is the latest update, but there was a small update too. My total is 2.1 gb i think for data on my HDD. and the game install (optional) is another 5.5 gb i think.
