Battlefield Dissapointing :(

ok the game is crap as far a demo

Graphics: for some reason it looks like dots everywere and compared to cod4 its not that good

Gameplay: so far crap. not realestic and these games should be a pick up play , but its not

sounds: it did not feel like i blew up that building :(

Replay: not sure yet it looks like its got ok value

doesn't feel right, the graphics are mediocre at best.....its funny...but that's it...ohhh and the multiplayer its a LAG FEST!!!..HORRIBLE>>> so dissapointed..well back to GTAtacubano

It's only been a lagfest since today. Thanks a lot you general public people who didn't pre order :P. I love the game, and I personally think it looks better than COD4.

1. The game is much more realistic than COD4.

2. You must be new to the BF series. All BF games have had steep learning curves. you cant play it for 10 minutes, get owned, and come to the conclusion that the game is not good.

3. The graphics are great given the environmental destructibility. And the "Dots"everywhere is the Grain movie filter (also used in Mass Effect)

Have any of you played Battlefield 2 for Xbox 360? I mean, is it better or worse than the previous ones? I know that Battlefield is waaay different from some of they games some of you guys are comparing it to. That why I wanna hear something from a Battlefield vet. sinistergoggles

1 i played the game for like 1 hour which is not much but if people put a game in for an hour you kind of see how the game is played, IE hands on...

2 they are completely different topics

Exactly.I don't have mommy and daddy psying for my games. I work full time and earm my money, so a game has to be pretty darn good for me to want to buy it.

I havnt even bothered to try the demo yet, that game just doesnt look very appealing to me at all i guess.

I didn't like it either.
But, maybe it's because I didn't understand it. There were others racking up scores, but I couldn't figure it out. For the multi, at least. It also wasn't laggy in the morning right after it popped up. It only got laggy after the kids got home from school. It was really bad after that. Don't think I've seen lag that bad...ever.

I also think they chose a poor mode/map to show it off.

The single player was alright. Seems like it has a decent plot.
There were some graphical hitches that I noticed though.

It was funny.
When I was playing the multiplayer this morning, there was this guy who was going on and on how this was the best game ever. Really, he wouldn't shut up. So, I go and check his profile; And, I see that he works for Dice. lol

at first i was like wth... cause i didnt really understand what i had to do. plus i kept choosing to respawn at the other side of the map without knowing so. then i figured out what i had to do and how to spawn near the action and man i had a blast.

easily a sick game. the graphic style of the game is different from cod4 but yet up there quality wise with cod's. i cant belive people say the graphics are bad... look closely!! the game looks nice.

i was extremely surprised and im definitely getting it now. i dont understand why people dislike the demo so much. ohh and another big plus is the single player mode.. wow. it was pretty good too.

its also more realistic than cod4.. i found myself hiding scared seeing the buildings i was in getting blown up and i was hiding behind a wall when suddenly it got destroyed and i was running for my life. i had blast with it, however i can understand people who might not have liked it but just because they were maybe playing with campers which make the game boring, dull and slow.

Laggy? That's probably just your connection. Games were fine for me.

TDC007: It's graphics are good for the size of the environments. Sounds: they use high dynamic range audio (or something like that...). If you didn't think it sounded like you blew up a building, you've never done it in reality :P

I agree with you that in general, EA sucks.
But you can't really say that this is bound to be a disappointment when all Battlefield games up to date have been, at worst; decent and at best; awesome.

To the OP, I think maybe you're judging this demo a little too harshly. It's pretty fun if you try and get into it.
And to the people calling it a lagfest, stop being so narrow-minded. Obviously that'll be fixed before release.

single player is very cool

but multiplayer is just a lag fest. and i probably have one of the best at home connections of this website :o

After spending a decent amount of time with the demo (3-5 Hrs.) heres my two cents. This isnt a game that should be compared with COD 4, there two entirely different games, other than the modern setting. While COD 4 is your classic pick up and play, arcade like shooter, low time investment to begin with high instant reward. Battlefield is a much different paced game, the weapons are more powerful and its easier to get killed. Both have there pros and cons, personally I am dissapointed by this demo. The game comes off as really unpolished, and the illusion of an open world is kind of snubbed out by the areas where going there is instant deathnebagaman4life

I think a lot of people had a overblown expectation of the game...they had hopped it would be as good as the PC series is...when in reality, it didnt even come close.cobrax75

I'll be pleased if Battlefield 3 looks like that, it's a good way to showcase the Frostbite engine, consider the game an appetiser before you get the main course.

i kinda no what you mean by the dots its called movie grain its actually an effect that had it on mass effect to but like mass effect you can probably enable or disable in graphics options in the actual game but it didnt really bother me, me and my friends both thought the graphics were amazing,

and the shear size of that oasis map is massive compared to any other multiplayer shooter,

apart from yesterday when something on my acc on battlefield mucked up it was not really a LAGFEST i thought it was suprisingly smooth especially for 24 players,

AND HOW CAN YOU POSSIBLY SAY THE SOUND IS **** ITS THE BEST SOUND IN A GAME TO DATE! the sound emitted reacts to its surroundings and where the player is in comparison , do the guns not sound realistic enough the way the echo its amazing i can really cant believe you said that really!.........

and also the game itself runs incredibly smooth in terms of frame rate eve with alll the destruction it doesnt slow down i havent noticed a single bit well done DICE!

and the best thing it feels like a war its mental some people just like linear/simple games i guess....
