Hey, got a question about the Xbox 360 and updates. I just saw somewhere online that the BC list was updated. Is that an update that I see download on my xbox when I turn it on because I haven't yet. Also, I asked someone how to delete patch updates for games because my Tony hawk Project 8 was having stuttering problems, anyway, I did what they said, and I was wondering, did that delete the regular Xbox 360 patch downloads. I just want my 360 to be up to date. How do I tell if it's up to date or does it automatically check? Also, how do I know if it downloaded the BC update? Thanks for your help.
You can't sign into Xbox live unless your dashboard is updated. You can't sign into Xbox live on a game unless your game is fully updated and if your connected to Xbox Live when you insert an Old Xbox 1 game then it will check for updates and you can download the BC update.
System updates kick in when the boc detects a net connection + update.
BC updates only kick in when ur connected to the net and try to start a BC typoe game, OR if you have DL'd the update and run it from a burnt CD-R / CD-RW. It is painless.
BC updates will be downloaded on a game by game basis when you place said game into the console. There's no point in having the files for BC games you don't play. Dashboard updates are downloaded automatically as soon as they come up (assuming you're connected to Xbox Live). If your console isn't on, then you'll be prompted to update (again, if you're connected) upon your next startup.
