Seeing as PC Gamer gave it a 95%, and the highest rating they've ever given is a 96%, I'd say yes.

I'd say it totally depends on who you are. I almost never play SP games as they are boring to me, so I'm most likely not going to get Bioshock. However, if there is a demo I'll try it because of the high scores it will most likely get. And then I'll probably be somewhat relieved when the demo tells me that I didn't want the game after all and spending 50 more bucks isn't necessary.

Ha-Ha?! That is funny single-player games are boring to you. Is that a joke? How can single-player parts of games be boring? That is where the story and the gameplay is, not to be rude but you must have no imagination. To me multi-player(Live) parts of games are without a doubt are boring, because there is no story and really all you for most of these multi-player games is to go around killing the other players and the players with the most kills wins that round and then you keep on doing that same thing over and over again. You can't tell that is not boring? That is why I think that multi-player parts of games are boring.

You might want to rent it before you buy it if you're not sure. The game may have gotten some great scores, but it still comes done to your taste.

Preordered and paid off the Collector's Edition already. Only a shmo wouldn't pick it up :) On a site note, singleplayer is much more important to me than multiplayer.

it looks 'pretty' but for some people the gameplay is too slow. The concept of the game is cool but i can easily see this game on the used shelf within a week.

Nah. I think I'd enjoy them more if I didn't have as good an imagination and required everything to be layed out in front of me to enjoy a story. Stories in books >>>> stories in games. Yeah, you can interact with things in games, but you can do better in books if you have imagination.

Multiplayer games are enjoyable. I like messing around with online games more than playing creepy single player games.

yeah way to go. your best defence was his view was wrong becouse your view was different, great argument.....his viewpoint is his own and his rational is just as subjective as your dribble.... arguments are there for both sides, single player in general has the better story arc and cinematic approach to it while after a few play throughs the single dimentionalism (yeah i think i just made that word up) gets old where multiplayer introduces new tactics and strategies to encounter...... am i right or wrong, no its all subjective just as all the opinions are to everyone but the person who expresses them.

how did he do that?

1. he said respect the guys opinion

2. he said single player games were boring

3. mentioned that story and AI meant nothing

4. he said he loved multiplayer games

5. said he loved playing against other people and again pointed out he thought ai was weak

Wheres the contradiction? id love to see it....

I couldn't disagree with you more. I also find single player FPS games boring these days. Rarely do i buy them full price. I look to purchase them second hand. It does feel bland to me. If it does not have an xbox live component, i will skip it or at least wait until it drops in price. I love being involved with other teammates in the multiplayer. That is a big plus to me in games and should be required now that the technology is there.

But it will all come down to your personal tatse. Rent it or play it at a friends house when it gets released and then decide on it.

Kinda tough to answer that question, seeing as it hasn't been released yet. Reviews so far have been glowing. But there are lots of games out there with high scores that I personally don't like (such as Halo), so it comes down to personal preference. I personally never pre-order games; I'd rather wait until a review comes out or rent it to decide.

I also prefer playing ultiplayer of games sure I'll play the odd single player game but when Im playing it I just know I wont be having as much as I do when I play multiplayer with all of my friends, so ha at you because someone has a differnt preference to you doesn't mean you should give them jip.

If you like the option of customizing your weapons and your char through genetic alterations and also like a compelling story-line that sucks you into the game then Bioshock is the game for you.

P.S I have it Pre-Ordered:P

To the guy that said he prefers multiplayer over singleplayer thats cool. But you also mentioned you rather read books than play single player games as well. Just to note here though, they say that this game has a story that is beyond excellent and seems like your playing through a really good book.

So it may still interest you if the story is really good. I wouldn't take it out completely since multiplayer is your style you should at least rent it. You never know you may find it really fascinating

[QUOTE="PotatoSan"]I'd say it totally depends on who you are. I almost never play SP games as they are boring to me, so I'm most likely not going to get Bioshock. However, if there is a demo I'll try it because of the high scores it will most likely get. And then I'll probably be somewhat relieved when the demo tells me that I didn't want the game after all and spending 50 more bucks isn't necessary.ghstbstr

HA-Ha?! That is funny single-players games are boring to you. Is that a joke? How can single-playersparts of games be boring? That is where the story amd the gameplay is, not to be rude but you must have no imagination. To me multi-player(Live, online) parts of games are without a doubt are boring because there is no story and really all you for most of these multi-player games is to go around killing the other players and the players with the most kills wins that round and then you keep on doing that same thing over and over again. You can't tell that is not boring? That is why I think that multi-player parts of games are boring.

JUst because you gh.... like to sit in your room and play games by yourself doesn't mean everybody likes to, I would much rather play multiplayer games over xbox live with my friends, and I find it much more exciting

Can someone tell me why I should buy the best game of this generation?

Can we stop pretending like there is a single player vs. multiplayer debate? We all know both can be fun experiences depending on a variety of factors.

And how could anyone HONESTLY answer your question since they did not play the game?

Everything everybody will say is simply based on hype and speculatiuon.

The game LOOKS LIKE is going to be awesome...now if it will actually be or especially if you like the genra is a question nobody can answer at the present time.
