best AI,so far...

just curious what you guys think. i'm always down for a new challenge, but lately it seems that designers are substituting challenging AI for graphics.

if this was one year ago, i'd have to say hl2 had the most spot on AI. now i'm gonna go with f.e.a.r.

so what do you guys have for me?

i don't care if it's last gen, btw.

Just to let you know. Since this is the 360 forums, mods will probably lock it if discussion strays too far out of the 360 "realm."

That said, I'll have to go with Halo 3 or GRAW considering I haven't played that many 360 games.

YEah fear was pretty intense but it wasn't perfect. i remember there was this big robot thing and I would just hide behind crates and it wouldn't come after me. That seemed kinda unrealistic. Rainbow six had some pretty tough AI.

FOr the 360 I'd have to say FEAR and Halflife2

Halo 3's AI is really smart. I love how you throw a granade at them, and sometimes they jump out of the way with that side matrix dodge lol.

I haven't ever heard them do that "GRANADE" thing, and then all of them throw a granade at the same time. The Brute Pack or whatever they call it. Never seen it, and I beat the game already a few times.

Oblivion, imo, it was cool how they kept up to date chats with each other, gossiping, aand its cool how its 6:00 in the game and a guard tells me what are you doing 6:00 in the evening or something like that, whats your opinion on the game?

THey dont make them smarter though. They just make them more powerful, throw more grenades, etc. Most dont even change the ai.

Definitely the clone soldiers from FEAR especially on the harder difficulty settings. I hated the zombie thingies in FEAR though it added nothing.:( The AI in Halo 3 was also really good. The worst AI I've ever seen are the guards in Tenchu Z, aaaaaah that game was crap!

for Enemy AI I would have to say halo 3 davidtabor5

has anyone played bioshock? i'm curious to know how the AI behaves in that one...

UT2004 with the AI ramped up to Godlike. Hardest game I've ever played when it's taht high.pyrobrand

i would say rainbow 6. spent hours trying to to do some levels.

the ai in bioshok i say are hard IF you have them on the hardest difficulty. if ya dont there not that hard!!!

good good, they jump on u and try to kill, but if they get hit alot they just run away and come back from different angles, and one of them sings this song himself ''je-sus.. loves-me , that..i..know..."and the little sister calls the big daddy mr bubbles:))) anyway about the AI, its good yeah good enough to keep u busy...oblivion AI is good...when i get stronger, they say ''look at the muscles on u'', and many more as one mentioned here....i had read on a faq that the radiant AI in oblivion was unaware of recent happennings, but in the game i see them all aware of whats going on around cyrodiil lately....and they gossip alot:))) btw i want 'the witcher' on xbox360...

The brutes barley trow grenades, It's the grunts who trow 2 or3 at a time in Legendary anyways. Those bastards. But yeah Halo 3 has excellent AI. Ninja Gaiden also had very good AI. I almost quit that freaking game, because it was so damn hard.

i play mostly online so i can't really say, but i do know that graw 2 had about the worst AI i can recall.

i really hope that the orange box has good AI, that would make me happy.

My favorite AI... Hmm, may be Halo 3, though they may not be strong but they hide, escape from grenades and when you hide but they find you they say something like "He's here!" or if you disappear they say "Let's find him after". It's good.

Bioshocks AI was normal, but I liked the Splicers looting bodies or their reaction to when they see you. And the ones who sing, hilarious.

gears has some good AI, halo3 also but usually i chalk getting killed by covenent up to way too many of them, in gears you can see the AI's strength because they will pwn you with a chainsaw or snipe you from cover if you dont.

btw games need to add bots if they have such great AI, bots rule for multiplayer when you cant play online

i played thief on xbox. it was pretty decent.

i've been seeing this alot so let me step in and say it:

good AI has absolutely nothing to do with how strong the enemy is. an example of good AI is the enemy's in f.e.a.r.- they will take cover and work as a team to kill you.
