What would you say is the best blade weapon in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion? The one that does the most damage, enchanted or not, and how you get it.
You can get Umbra at any time. To get it all you have to do is kill a lady in some dungeon. I haven't played the game in ages so i couldn't tell you where that dungeon is. My vauge memory is telling me that it is on the water surrrounding the imperial city but i am not sure. I also beleive that killing the lady who holds Umbra(her name is umbra if i remember corrextly, she changed it after getting the sword which was the name of a legendary soildier).
And to the person who said that elven was the best. I am sorr but you are wrong. With the level that you are at it is probobly the best that you can get at the time, just like iron was the best that you could get. But at the level i am(don't even remember it has been such a long time) all of the enemys are carrying glass swords. Which means that they leveled to me and glass is now the norm. The more elite enemies are carrying something but i don't know what. And they are almost all enchanted.
Wow....didn't expect to put in that much. My internet has been acting up for a few days and i haven't posted in a while and probobly won't for a few more. I feel like i have to make up for stuff subconciously i guess.
Ok to get Umbra read this. First off, DO NOT start this Daedric quest until you reiceve Umbra because there is a bug that will not let you finish the quest unless you get the blade first. Now got to Pell's Gate (a settlement near the Imperial City). Next, there is an Aleyid ruin nearby (unsure of name). This ruin is very short and linear so it is impossible to get lost. Kill Umbra and retrieve the sword. Now you may go to the Daedric shrine and start/finish the quest without a bug interfering. Read a FAQ on this site for more info.
If you are fighting humans yes you might as well use umbra but if you are fighting any kind of monster a small enchanted dagger close up works very well becuase of its speed.

yeh my bad im only lvl 10 hahaha.......goldbrand isnt bad but prolly not the best either.......
I amabout level 20now and yes, goldbrand is a pretty decent enchanted blade but my favorite has to be the upgraded version of the Blade of Woe for my sneak attacks.
Dawnfang for sure, but you have to get the Shivering Isles expansion to obtain it. It's a sword that levels up as you kill with it & changes forms between day & night.
