Best Mass Effect Class?

I just bought Mass Effect about a week ago and I'm finally starting to get some time to play it! Anyhow, I've started as the Sentinel class as I didn't want to eliminate biotics from my character (well, advanced biotics anyhow). But one of my favorite gun tactics is to use the sniper rifle from a distance and the shotgun when they get up close.

What do you guys think the best class for my play style is? Am I missing too much if I roll a soldier and pretty much eliminate biotics all together? It does give me access to all weapons right off the bat, but I'm afraid I'll miss too many cool aspects of the game by playing a class that is so limited in the biotics department.

Your thoughts?

I played as an infiltrator which is a blend of soldier and technician. It had training in sniper rifles and pistols plus the electronics and damping skills of the technician. It was a good class to be because paired up with Wrex (Biotic/solider) and either Liara or Garrus we made a very well rounded team. However,if I decide to play again I'll mostly like make my new character a Vangaurd like Wrex as the biotic skills are fun to use. Beause you can control the abilites of your teammates you can still use the other class special attacks but you are directing your teammates to do so.

I'd stay away from the strictly Technician class as it's not all that exciting. Plus you can always bring Tali for those tough doors to open or pods to salvage.
