I recently joined the 360 world after an impulse buy at midnight at Walmart. I was living in a house of 4 guys with 0 game systems... we decided in order to keep our man cards, we needed a console. So... I'm looking for some good multiplayer campaign games. We have Live, but we're looking for mainly split-screen co-op. We're nearing the end of the Modern Warfare 2 spec ops. Gears of War 2 is an obvious choice... what are some of the others (classics, new releases, etc)? Thanks in advance!

Definitely the Left 4 Dead games. The whole idea for both games revolves around multiplayer campaigns. You could also check out Call of Duty: World at War, and of course Halo 3 and Halo: ODST.

I would reccomend any Halo game, especially ODST, GOW 1 & 2, Fable 2 is awesome for online co-op play and your co-op partner can accompany you through any part, COD MW, Borderlands, Too Human and many more. Depending on your taste of game.

Fable 2?...

I disagree, defiantly not great co-op.

But Borderlands is awesome.

Saints row 2, Crackdown, mercenaries 2 all have playable co-op in sandbox worlds through xbox live. There all pretty cheap now also. I put the games in order of quality, at least imo.

If your into jrpgs Tales of Vesperia and Eternal Sonata are playable coo-op all the way through. Although only one person has full control the rest just participate during battles.

Edit- MUA and MUA2 are fully playable co-op with up to 4 people online. I recommend Earth defence force 2017 if you want local co-op, no online though.

Halo 3 would be ideal considering there are 4 of you... Rainbow Six Vegas and it's sequel is also a good choice.

Fable 2 has an ok co-op setup if you're playing over live but it's not too fun on the same TV, so it won't help too much for the original situation.

Even over live it's boring though. I don't know, I never found the point in Fable 2 co-op. It's not really co-op. More like observing.

Thanks for all the replies! Borderlands and Saints Row 2 have peaked my interest. I've played Left for Dead 2, and I just don't think it's that great... but I feel like I'm missing something. So many gamers absolutely love the series.

Well, four dudes living together is a great recipe for co-op.

Left 4 Dead and it's sequel are obvious choices.

And do NOT FORGET Halo 3 as a co-op game. It rocks! ODST is a great game to play by yourself for the campaign, though, co-op Firefight is totally awesome. So if you guys want to just shoot around there than go for ODST. But Halo 3's campaign is better in co-op than ODST's campaign. ODST should really be played solo to get the atmosphere and ambience of the world to feel right. It's awesome though, those great city portions.

I believe Call of Duty: World at War also has co-op, though I haven't played that game. If you're enjoying CoD though that might be one to check out.

You guys should also check out some driving and fighting games too.

Left 4 Dead and Halo 3 must haves. U could add a hint of burnout paradise if you like racing.

No one's mentioned Army of Two. That game was great and it's kind of fun to customize your weapons and masks. I usually play solo, but my wife got into that game. We're waiting anxiously for the sequel. :)

I would recommend Left 4 Dead 2 as you first buy. Great splitscreen co-op.
