Best multiplayer Halo game????

So i have never played Halo before ever and i want to play it just for the multiplayer. is HALO 3 the way to go??? or do i need one of the other ones??

i think Halo 2 had the best MP simply because i preffered the maps, but the most active community is definately Halo 3, especially with the imminent release of ODST that includes Halo 3 MP and all the maps (DLC included)chaoscougar1

The best Halo Multiplayer experience was Halo PC...More maps, mods, and more fun. By far the most fun I've had playing Halo. I hated 2 & 3...3 was my least favorite...

It was really the online play on the PC version that made it better.
