ive had my 360 since the begining, but the only game i own now is halo 3 and i only played it for like a weekend and got annoyed at my internet screwing up so i couldnt play on live. but now 21095712 months later im changing internet so maybe it will actually work and i can enjoy playing on live, but im pretty burn out on halo

whats the overall best game to play online at the moment?

What are your criteria for "best?" CoD4 is very popular, and quite fun...depending on who you're playing with.

I got Halo 3 the day it came out and it was fun and all, but then I went out and impulse purchased Call of Duty 4, I never went back to Halo 3...

If you haven't played Rainbow Six Vegas 1 I would recommend getting vegas 2. Great online

It's a lot easier to jump in and play cod4 than it is to play Gears. Gears takes a lot more skill and the community for the game has been playing it for a long time. With CoD4 you just need the basic run-and-gun-then-crouch skills of your average fps. That said, cod4 has a really deep character progression system for the online play. I would go with cod4 because you get the most for your money. You could also get orange box for Team Fortress 2 and Portal. If you have never played Half Life 2 before, then get CoD4 and Orange Box.
