Blow the head off. Duh. However if you're really close anywhere will blow them to shreads. However if you can get a headshot with a shotgun from further away than an explosion shot thing.
personally i aim for the torso since most of my bullets get there. I believe the best tip i can give anyone is while shooting someone w/ the shotgun, just simply move side to side while walking closer. I guarantee you 95% of the people will miss every shot while you do this. And not even huge side steps, just short ones. it always works for me and is an excellent shotgun strategy.
