I'm surprised no one said Altiar.

For me it's a toss up between him and Marcus Fenix.

Also Ethan from Condemned is pretty cool.

This is actually a really tough question. I mean Master Cheif is pretty badass, you never see his face and the man lives to do nothing but fight, if he's not fighting he's sleeping waiting for when he needs to fight. Marcus Fenix is just a monster, his biceps are bigger then my torso, he has a chainsaw bayonet and curb stomps people. Even Commander Shepard, having the decision to pin a young female news reporter against a wall and threaten her life because she is annoying, that's cool.

I'm going to bring up two others though, Kane from Command and Conquer 3 (you can play as NOD) and Ryu Hayabusa (if future games don't count he's in DOA 4 too). Kane is just ruthless, and the sub-par acting in the game just make me like him more. I don't think I need to say anything to compliment Ryu, he's ridiculous.

And on an ending note, I think the main character from Star Wars Force Unleashed may take this prize for me once that game comes out.

I don't know if it's on the the lower difficulty levels, but...

SPOILER ALERT

I beat the game on Legendary and if you wait until after the credits Master Cheif and Cortana are floating in space in a broken piece of the ship, Master Cheif goes into a cryo tube and says to wake him when he's needed, cortana agrees and then the camera pans out. Then you see a planet that they are floating towards. The End

Not a huge fan of Gaylo 3, but Master Cheif is still awsome, but come on! Compared to Commander Shephard or Kaim, I think it's time for him to retire and make room for the new more awsome personality's.

I'd say Master Chief.

I suppose Commander Shepard deserves to win. The only nominee I'm aware of that "gets some"
