WRPGs are definitely my favorite genre. I own all the big names: Mass Effect, Oblivion, Fallout 3, Dragon Age: Origins & Awakening. I'd rate them:

1. Oblivion for its massive fantasy based setting. Armor customization in that game is also at its finest. (Adore the female version of Ebony armor.) Unlike everyone else, I like the leveling system. Performing an activity will lead to increasing your proficiency at that area. I think it's quite realistic and reasonable enough.

2. Fallout 3 for its vast post-apocalyptic game setting. I think VATs made the gameplay more varied. And the graphics are realistic and nicely detailed.

3. Mass Effect. Overall a nice blend of action and RPG elements. Graphics are probably the best of the bunch. Characters and environs are very, very nicely detailed. The people and aliens you meet are quite memorable themselves.

4. Borderlands.

5. Dragon Age.

If we're rating them in order now, then

1. Oblivion

2.Mass Effect

3.Mass Effect 2

4.Fallout 3

5.Dragon Age

6.Borderlands

though 1 and 2 are on the same level, as are 4 and 5.

DAO is probably the most addictive game I've played in my life. I love interacting with the party members. More so than the ones from Mass Effect. In ME, there's a noticeable pause after every sentence your party members says. It's really annoying because you have to wait a bit more for them to spew out what they're going to say. Your party in ME is also overall less interesting than the ones in Dragon Age.

Definitely, the story is the main thing about it, just finish it and you'll love it. I sort of gave up too half way through for a while but I love it now.

Dragon Age is a great game! I definitely think you should give it another go. Roll a mage with damage specs, which makes the game extremely fun!

I'm my opinion Dragon Age: Origins is the best game this gen, followed closely by Mass Effect and Mass Effect 2, you really should give it another go, before Dragon Age came out I was actually considering stopping gaming as I was getting bored of it, but after I saw Dragon Age I decided to wait and try it before hanging up my controller, four play through's (and two lesbian make out scenes with Leliana) later and here I am, strongly considering a FIFTH play through (although I still want to replay ME2 on Insanity), so yeah Dragon Age stopped me from quitting gaming, really outstanding game.

I am amazed that you guys feel DAO was such a good game, In my opinion it was NOT of Bioware quality. You look at KOTOR, ME, Jade Empire, Baulder Gates, I do not feel DAO held a flame to any of these, It was most definitely rushed out after Mass Effect which is their primary game right now. Yes it was enjoyable one or two play throughs, but to say it was better than Mass Effect is insane.

But, Im sure i will upset someone with that and this... give Two Worlds a try, It really is not that bad if you really give it a chance. Most people i hear talk major trash about it have never even beat the game. How do you talk trash about a game If you hadn't played it all the way through?

So you trash DAO and then give two worlds a big thumbs up? Are you serious? The game was broken and most likely still is broken dragon age origins is a very good game that most RPGS of THIS GEN can't hold a flame to. Nice try though.;)

I said he ought to give Two Worlds a try, and I'm currently playing it now and its not broken... Nice Try. I never said Two Worlds was better than DOA either. I simply stated that DOA was NOT as good as everyone is making it out to be. Yes it is good, never said it was a bad game, but to say it was so awesome in my "opinion" it is not.

NO DOA is as good as everyone is making it out to be (I0ner_1)... if not better/reminds me so much of Kotor and why i loved that game... except dragon age origins is much more intricate--> especially the ending!! The only reason i think you could possibly not like it is if--> you went to the dwarf place first thing/or went to mage place. The mage/part in the fade...kinda tedious...i learned to like it though ;)

I would also say DAO isn't all its cracked up to be and think it would have played out much better on the pc then the 360.

However, to say how can someone state two worlds is bad without playing all the way through it!? Well if i step in a pile of s@$! i don't have to eat it to know its s@#! I can see and smell it well enough after only stepping in it. That game is so broken its a chore to play though thats why most people haven't and if you did and found out its better towards the end well congrats to you, your a lot more bored then the rest of us, with too much time on your hands. With all the other excellent titles out there i really don't see why any one would recommend two worlds to any one ever, and Thats my opinion.

P.S two worlds 2 is shaping up to be a decent title and i will give it a fair shot to redeem their first foray, especially because there are not many good rpgs on the 360.

Yes two worlds 2 does look a lot better however i think the developers would have done a lot better in the sales department by calling it something different other than two worlds 2. Not only that i dont even remember the story to two worlds in the slightest which is another way of saying the game was VERY forgettable

Ha, well I guess no one noticed this except for I, but he pretty much listed ALL the good wrpg titles that are at the top. I was merely stating that here is another one that is highly critized for being bad but has fun game play. It was a suggestion as if he had played everything heres one you might not herd of, and I hate to say this but your anaogly is kind of wack. You can never judge a book by is cover, how do you know that S*** taste bad if you never had tired it huh? Man... I'm going to get hell for that statement but tis a true statement. Yes Two Worlds has its problems and most people who have played it all the way through rate it a 7ish. Well in my book a 7 is worth a play, and they're are several people who would agree.

No offense you seem like a groovy calm and level headed gamer, but knowing that crap taste like crap is something called common sense, i'm not tryin to blast you personally, and i agree that there isn't much suggest-able outside the games the op had already listed but take into consideration i wasn't judging a book by its cover that would be saying it crappy based off the cover art, i actually played it i gave it a fair chance and i though it was an abomination.

At least we can agree to disagree, and different opinions such as ours will help ultimately help the op decide which game to play (hopefully). Game on my friend, you are a worthy opponent, especially considering the fact that your willing to state your honest opinion whether you catch some flak for it or not.

Hey guys I would love to try out Dragon Age too. But what I want to know is how the combat is on the Xbox. As in if you hit A once your character will swing his sword once. Or is it like an auto attack?

I got really far in that, please check my achievments, i have raptr.

Hey guys I would love to try out Dragon Age too. But what I want to know is how the combat is on the Xbox. As in if you hit A once your character will swing his sword once. Or is it like an auto attack?

You have a new character in the second dragon age. But the actions your first character did in the first game around going on at the start of the second game so there is some sort of tie in between games.
