I would have to go with Gears of War. Yes, Halo 3 is fun and all, but it just same old, same old. And it ended rather quickly. Gears was over quickly too, but it manages to be number one with me by a very small degree.

Half Life 2, Episode 1 and Episode 2 are great games. Portal is fun, although short. I haven't played Team Fortress 2, because I don't really play online. The only time I play online is when I have no other games to play and at the moment, I have about four I need to beat, then Assassins Creed, Mass Effect and Kane & Lynch coming up.
Id have to go with COD4...Halo 3 is still overrated. Gears was fun for a long time but got tired of it. OJ BOX is fun but not the best. Rainbow 6V was fun for a while but too many people kick you from a game for no reason...so annoying. All others dont really care for.

I voted COD4 only because I feel the online is more balanced than the rest. The single player is great and I am playing it on hardend and I would say I've spent at least 7 hours on it so far. I'm sure on regular it would be much shorter. Gears is great single player but unless you want to get into a shotgun fest and pwned by some damn good players, it's avoidable. Halo 3 is the best halo yet so if you loved the first two than you can't go wrong there either. And as for orange box, if you've never played half-life 2 then its definatly the best deal by a long shot.

Halo 3=improved halo
COD 4= by far the best in the series, exciting online and off. LOTS to acheive in the multiplayer department.

The Orange Box is the best, CoD4 is a close second for me.
I can't choose, but I can narrow it down to Halo 3, Gears and the Orange Box. COD 4 isn't doing it for me, the single player isn't that fun and it is short with a so-so story and the MP is fun, but I prefer Halo 3, Gears and TF 2 to it. I know I'm in the minority, but I have had more fun with the other games.

can you tell me what makes the orange box stand out as the best shooter on the 360? ...for me it isn't even in the top five, and i do realize that a lot of people love the game...i just want to know why
GEARS!..lets be serriouse cod4 is fun but im already done with it k, its not all that good so come on its just llike other shooters,and its not new either, halo comes close to 1st
