If money is no object, go with a good plasma TV that displays in 1080i. One of the new ones that refresh at 120hz would probably be the best you can get. Get as big as you can reasonably fit in your viewing area. For the rest of us, a good Rear projection DLP will work as well. I have a Sony 64"DLP that I bought last year, it's frickin awesome for movies and games. I'll have to replace the bulb every few years but it's worth it to me than to spend an extra 2 grand for a plasma. Really any HD TV is going to be fine, so get the best you can afford. www.avsforum.com is a great site for all things audio and visual.

I have a 40 samsung touch of color great tv! 120 hz 50000:1 1080p with 3 hdmi slots. All the games look good on it, the only time I have problems is everyonce of awhile I have to move closer to read the text on Fallout 3 because my eyes will start to hurt....But I work on a computer all day and play games the rest....so my eyes are prob f'd anyways.

Don't listen to guys in stores who try to get you to buy the more expensive TV by saying,"Oh 360 won't look that good on that Tv". There is no best TV for the 360. Well I guess there is sort of... You want an HDTV for one, whatever size doesn't really matter buy one significant to the size of the room. You'll want the TV to have multiple HDMI ports and component and a/v ports. You want it to have a fast response time I think 8ms and under is good for gaming on 360. 720p is what all games run on but now most games are being put out at 1080i/p so it doesn't matter much as to which one you get. It depends on the size of your TV whether 720 or 1080 is good for you. Other things you want is a TV that will last and looks good for you. I have a Sony Bravia HDTV and it has been great. I know friends with Vizio HDTV's, Olevia HDTV's, and they all have been good. You will also want the HDTV to be LCD it is better for gaming and better to reduce chance of screen burn. Your welcome.

plasma tvs has 3 to 5 times the refrest rate. Plasmas are much faster then a lcd. Pioneer elites are the best there is in a HD tv period. Pioneer won't be around for much longer but the second best is plasma out there. If you have windows, get that lcd, but if you are look at samsungs keep in mind that most of them have a gloss finish on the sceen to get deeper blacks to compet with the plasma. You well see glare with these HD tvs. There is a new sony out there it is the xbr7 that has 240 hz that is a nice lcd but you bring the money...

Why don't you just save up for a brand that's not terrible?

40" Samsung LN40A550. It's perfect.

Or if you're feeling more spendy, the newer models are supposedly even nicer, with higher refresh rates and such.

I actually have a 46 Poloried LCD. It's 1080p and the picture is sweet. All of Sony's TV's are usually really nice. But they get spendy. Mine was fairly cheap and has a great picture. Especially for watching bluerays.

That is not true you are thinking of the lcd they lose color not plasmas. LCD lose about 10% color every 3 years.
