There are RPGs on the 360? Whoa-ho! ZING!!!
But nah, I'm really not interested in any of these games. I wish there were more Japanese game companies working on RPGs for the 360, since those are more my kind of RPGs. Unfortunately these are the years of the western RPGs, and there really aren't a whole lot of JRPGs being made these days.
I thought Lost Odyssey was the most interestin RPG I ever played on the console, but that game was really sub-par anyway. I've tried games like Mass Effect, Oblivion, Fallout 3, etc etc, but I just didn't care for them.
I think one major thing that turned me away from them was how they were so dang open-ended. You begin the game, then what? You can just go pick flowers for an hour and raise your flower-picking skill. That might work in a game like Runescape, but in a game like Oblivion it just seems so trivial that I don't know why they bothered putting it in the game. Or you can go and talk to people for 5 hours until you are completely bored of talking to people in a game. Maybe that's the problem, too much talking?
Wait a minute Versus XIII for 360? I haven't heard anything about it being confirmed for 360, are you sure you meant to post on the 360 board? Only thing I've heard about it is THIS.
[QUOTE="Strik3king"]Who else here has picked oblivion up waiting for skyrim? i know i have :)ErzsI still have it but hadn't thought to play it again until you mentioned it. I think I'll try to get round to doing that before LA Noire comes out! It comes out tomorrow
[QUOTE="Spellingiscool"]It comes out tomorrowErzsI'm fairly certain that for me it's not out for a couple of days after tomorrow, the EU release date being 20th May.
Oblivion is not a 3-day sort of game, my friend. If you haven't tried Fallout 3 or New Vegas yet, either, then you might just end up becoming hooked for the next month or two on Oblivion. Which isn't a bad thing. You can wait to find LA Noire cheaper somewhere afterwards. :)
I've got my eye on Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning, hoping it'll be a surprise great game. Other than that, I'm eagerly awaiting ME3, and am interested in Deus Ex: HR (if you want to call it an RPG) and maybe Skyrim.
It's okay. I 100%'d Oblivion quite a while ago. I more so meant just having a little play on it for a while, since I'm renting L.A. Noire anyway I'll probably have longer than 3 days to play about on it anyway. Sometime before Skyrim comes out I'll maybe play it through properly again. =] As for Fallout 3 and New Vegas neither have grabbed my attention like Oblivion did. If, however, I did intend to play such a huge game fully I wouldn't only allow myself only a few days. But thanks for the heads up all the same. =]Oblivion is not a 3-day sort of game, my friend. Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning is probably the one I'm looking forward to most after the big two this year (ME3 and Skyrim). There's a huge demo video of it on their website from PAX and it looks pretty good. Check it out.

I still think Kingdoms of Amalur will be great. Despite all the criticism, I really liked the Fable games so I'm really excited for what looks to be a more complex, involved version of Fable with a good serious story. Plus Ken Rolston (Elder Scrolls series) and R.A. Salvatore (acclaimed fantasy writer) are both heavily involved in the game.

Now we know who the real genius behind the ES games was and it certainly wasn't Ken Rolston. It was Todd Howard all along and now that Rolston is on his own he reveals his true colors....a third person hack n slash RPG which has little to do with Oblivion.I was also really interested in this game until I saw the gameplay trailer. Then I said to myself "Holy crap what went wrong?". THIS guy worked on Oblivion?

Wow, Kingdoms of Amalur looks great! Thanks for bringing it to my attention (as well as a previous poster). I liked the Fable games as well, so I'm interested in seeing how this game does.Witcher 2? Diablo 3? Guild Wars 2? Isn't this the 360 board? SpellingiscoolWitcher 2 is going to be released on 360 as well as PC. Diablo 3 is rumored as a possible console release but Guild Wars is undoubedtly not coming to consoles. Some other great RPGs include, Final Fantasy XIII-2, Dungeon Siege III, Elder Scrolls: Skyrim, and Hunted: The Demon's Forge (Action RPG).

Diablo 3 is't a rpg? Rotfl, what is it then? that's the craziest thing I have heard all year so far, that game is a full fledge rpg, on to the topic though, Skyrim is tops for me, but I am looking foward to Diablo 3 as well.Versus XIII and Diablo 3 are arguable in terms of being called RPG's, but Skyrim is pretty much the only thing on my mind for the next 6 months.

Wizdom,if we are strictly talking about 360 games why did you also list Diablo 3 as one of your top RPGs?
Because it's made by Obsidian and it's a third person hack n slash.[QUOTE="Paynee"]
How could you forget Dungeon Siege III? KC_Hokie
Oh no you didn't!
Seriously, I know Obsidian has a problem coding, and their glitchfests can be annoying. I really don't think they're any worse than Bethesda in that department though.
And because it's Obsidian, I'm pretty sure I'll get far more of an RPG experience than some of the games named on here.

It took Obsidian nine months to have Fallout New Vegas in the same state Bethesda had Fallout 3 after about a month and a half. Look at Alpha Protocol...tied with New Vegas as the glitchiest RPG I've played this generation. In terms of being the glitchiest RPG programmer out there today Obsidian wins the prize by far.

New Vegas also happened to be one of the best WRPGs that's been released this generation. I played over 100 hours of it before the first update even came out and with the exception of a couple irritations (one or two glitched quests and some faulty enemy AI), I can't think of any RPG I've had more fun with outside of Oblivion.I will reserve judgement on Dungeon Seige until I've played it for myself, but to imply that third person hack and slash games don't qualify as RPGs is ridiculous. Diablo, anyone? Or how about Sacred2? There's just no supporting that statement if you've ever actually played one.
