it doesent heat as much as ppl exegerate.. it will heat alot but most likely it wot damege the 360.. of it does ur 360 already had problems with it...

Aniway 70% of the ppl's 360 overheated from users tryeng to cool it and oveprotect it.. etc.. so just chill and clean the dusts things in the back once a month

whatever u do DONT get the intercooler....i had one of those and then all of the sudden one day my 360 gives me the death lights.....so i turned it off and turned it back on, it worked fine then....next day and the following days for about 2 weeks, about 30 min. after i had been playing my xbox, the thing would give me the death lights and just shut off....i kept turning it on and off everytime.....by then i had gotten mad, called microsoft and they gave me the obvious noob questions like is it plugged in?? anyways one night i was playin and wanted to get rid of a little fan noise (the intercooler is not the quietest thing in the world) so i removed it from my xbox.....havent had the death lights since and that was about 2 months ago

There is no way for a consumer to cool the 360.

The intercooler is not a way to cool the 360.....it only lowers the temp a few degrees. The 360 is going to over-heat no matter what. And YES it does over-heat because a CPU is not supposed to be 120 degrees + Farenhieht.

laptop cooler has worked for me. I also keep a desk fan on the side of my 360 inorder to have air blowning on the heatsinks. Works great.

no need for that just pour it right into the vents it will cool the heatsink and everything else instantly. Or be like me and keep dry ice and a fan blowing into the intakes:D

The intercooler doesn't work because the power supply plugs into it, which can cause it to melt onto the actual system. Your best bet would be to get the Pelican Pro Air Cooler, it's $29.99 at GameStop, and actually adds additional ports on your system. Also, keep your 360 in an area where it's not crowded by the t.v. or other electronics, not on the floor or in high-traffic areas.

Ideally, on a glass table with a foot of space on all sides in a cool temperature room.

hey, ya noe wt's the best way? ya should keep the air-con in front of it, lik i do, but it's just a matter of space. i keep my x-box below my aircon and the air goes directly in2 my x-box. Now that's the best way.

Don't overplay it. Let it have 2 hour breaks before using it again after your session ends.

Ignore all the cooling ideas as they are all just ways for you to part with more money but for nothing.

If you 360 is going to die it will regardless of cooling or clear vents or any other dumb ideas you see on this forum.

i had one from launch, which were the worst ones and as I have 2 little kids it lives in a cupbaord with the glass dorrs locked and no vents and it lasted 12 months before it died.

I then got a replacement from microsoft that has lived in the same conditions ever since and is now coming up for a year also with no problems.

I dont say it wont break but no little fan or stuff will change if it will.

Also if in the UK and you have not got a 360 yet just get one from Game but walk into the shop and get one, do not get it online.

My mates that have had one go wrongjust take it back to Game and they get a new one on the spot. No waiting to send it back to Microsoft.

A few dos, dont's and mays:

-DON'T use an extra fan while running your 360. If you fan is high powered enough, it my try to change the velocity/direction of the current 360 fans, thus, burning out/damaging the fan's bearings.

-You MAY use an external fan only when your 360 is off and the 360 fans are off.

-DO use proper ventalation!

-DO use a air compressor to remove dust/hair that may cause problems later.

-DON'T use an air conditioner! They create moisture which could collect inside your 360...water and electricty. Common sense.

-DO take breaks! Do not play it constantly. Give it and yourself a break every 4-5 hours if you MUST play.
