I've was trying to buy a 360 a couple of weeks ago and went to my local Best Buy only to find out they had run out of them. I went to another Best Buy and got the same result. Went home looked up on Best Buy's website and searched all local Best Buys and others aswell, with the exact same rusult. Has anyone else had this promblem? The clerks didn't seem to have an answer as to why they didn't have any, just that they ran out of them because they are so sought after......but I then went to a local Circuit City and found that they had plenty of the 360's on hand and then tried an EB Games store and also found they had plenty of stock.......I live in southern california and just find it odd that no Best Buy is carrying the 360.

There is a strong very possible true rumor and only a rumor that MS is recalling X360 due to a graphic freeze not the 3 red rings but another major problem but i think it was only 1 batch and some best buys received the shipment and there tring to get them all back before the word gets out

The ring of fire scandal was my original thought, but everyone else having the console threw me off......only reason i wanted to get it at best-buy was because i had gotten a gift card and wanted to use it towards the purchase price. But COSTCO has what appears a great bundler deal so i might just go with that.

Hmmm...maybe this is the reason my Xbox freezes a little since I bought it at Best Buy early June.

They are probably switching them to the new models so they don't have to worry about warranties. Yeah it is confirmed they are recalling them for the new models. you might want to wait a week or 2. I might just get a new one myself.

Yeah, I noticed my local Target didn't have ANY on Saturday. No Premiums, no Elites, not even a Core. They always have something. I think that every Xbox 360 on store shelves worldwide has been recalled. I'm guessing that they won't bother stocking them again until the new 65nm chipset is out.

Best Buy probably sells the most 360s out of any other company that carries the 360. The store here gets a lot in every two weeks or so and they sell out usually within a week and a half just in time for the next shipment.

Sorry ignore my post above, didn't read Hoffman's post before posting. Well if they're recalling all of the xbox 360's now, then I'd have to say that's good news, it means that they're going to release the new model with the 65nm CPU (and I heard in 1 article I don't have the link anymore it's in one of my other posts that they will use a new gpu?) soon.
